Birthday Card for My 2 Year Old Grandson

February 14th is my youngest grandson's birthday, and this year he turned two. This past year I have been getting back into crocheting and have started working on crocheting afghans for my 8 grandchildren. Every Christmas is one family, and then the next. So when I started thinking what could I possibly crochet for my eldest son's family that live in Phoenix, where it's hot all the time...well my son said that the teenage girls would still appreciate afghans, and my little grandson would love booties and a pullover sweater for the cooler days. My thought was it doesn't ever get cool down there, does it?

Well I went ahead and made his some slipper booties for his birthday, and plan to send him a pullover for Christmas. But that's not what this post is all about...it's about the card!

He loves to be outdoors and so I created this card for him.

I coloured the bird using the new Watercolour pencils and a blender pen.

Not because his birthday is on Valentines Day did I stamp hearts and a kiss, but because if I were there I would give him hugs and kisses.

So now I just wait and see if he likes his slippers and card...

Thank you for stopping by today to have a look, and for putting up with some of my 'Grandma' stuff.

Happy creating!

VanIsle Meeting Make & Takes

REMINDER - Today is the last day to take advantage of the 15% off stamp sale!

I only made four of the Make & Takes at our VanIsle SU Meeting last Saturday, and these are they.

This first one is a technique I had already planned to use and teach, in the new year, in one of my classes.

This next one is one have already done and may have been cased from mine...

This one is so bright and cheery, I had to make it. Plus, I love this bundle!

Someone on the team I'm on shared this Make & Take. It was fun creating the little scene in the circle, and the folded ruffle too.

Being Make & Takes, the insides aren't done. But I still plan to do that. Hope you have some inspiration for your Christmas cards from these ones.

ADDED: Someone asked for the measurements of the ruffle.

Cut Strip - 7 3/8" w  x 3" h
Angle  - measure from left 2 1/2" and make a mark. On right measure 1 1/2" from top and mark. Cut from mark to mark to create the angle.
Score - With 7 3/8" across top of Simply Scored Tool, score @ 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 5", & 6".
Accordion fold along score lines. Looks better if you DO NOT use the bone folder.

Happy Stamping!
