June Scrapbook Parade Crop Classes -1

I'm busy getting ready to leave for Boise, so I've scheduled this post for you. This is one of the classes I'll be teaching at the Scrapbook Parade Crop on Saturday, June 25th. I'm not able to make it to the one this Saturday, as I will be in Boise. Take note of the registration and Payment deadline for this class.

For these lovely birthday cards we will be background stamping, ink sponging, heat embossing, punching, die cutting & watercolouring! All these techniques will be so fun to work with. We will have more then the usual class time to work on all these cards, so you won't feel a time crunch.

Please Bring to Class the following:
Stamping pad, clear stamp blocks, stamp cleaner, ruler, pencil, double sided adhesive tape, dimensionals/pop dots, scissors, Aqua Painters (watercolouring tools) & any of the following ink pads you may have - Wild Wasabi, Versamark, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Tip Top Taupe, Archival Basic Gray, So Saffron, Smoky Slate,  & Sahara Sand.

The Wilderness Awaits - Fox

With Fathers Day not far off, it's time to create a masculine card class. Last year I used Guy Greetings, and for this year I'm going with the stamp set The Wilderness Awaits.

I cased a card created by Zoe Tant using a few different elements and Soft Suede rather than the Crumb Cake she used. I think it is a little too dark on Soft Suede, so I might make another one with Crumb Cake to which one I like better.

Along with The Wilderness Awaits, I used Gorgeous Grunge as well. I'm thinking I might order a second Gorgeous Grunge stamp set because I've used mine so much!

Cased from Stampin Up UK Demonstrator Zoe Tant

In the close up below you can see where I used Whisper White Craft Ink and an Aqua Painter to apply a little white to the fox. I stamped a second fox and cut out the head to pop up over the head of the fox stamped onto the card.

Working with Archival Basic Black ink pad, I used a sponge to grunge up the edges of the card even more.

Below you can see the layering of the card.

For the inside I wanted to keep the fox light so that a person could write over it if needed, so I lightly sponged Soft Suede over the fox, and the black lightly around the edge.

There are four animals in this stamp set, so I plan to make four cards for a card class on June 6th (evening) & 7th (afternoon), a couple of weeks before Fathers Day. I'm excited to show you the next three cards, so be sure to drop by for a peek over the next few days.

All Ye Faithful #5

This is the second post for today. If you wish to see the WEEKLY DEALS, just scroll down to the next post.

Sometimes I don't know where my head is. I don't know how I forget to post this card! The last of the "All Ye Faithful" cards.

Sponge ink blending is the technique for this card, and I used Dazzling Details around the gold Itty Bitty Star as well as dots for other stars.

Wetlands 4

Welcome back! This next card was cased from Pinterest and created by Jan Clothier. I made the circle larger and used Marina Mist instead of Lost Lagoon (need to order more), and didn't have ribbon so I used cardstock instead.

I wish I had lowered the Sandpipers just a bit more. 

Here is the side view showing only one layer popped up.

 Again, it's fun creating a little something on the inside.

Wetlands 2

Another simple and easy card to make that would be great for mass production. You know, for those Christmas card sets you want to make.... Sometimes the CAS cards are just as beautiful as those where a lot of time is spent fussy cutting and layering.

I don't know if you can see it, but I ave a very light Calypso Coral & Bermuda Bay colour blended around the circle spread out to the outer edges of that top layer.

Doesn't white on white layering look sophisticated and elegant?

I think you can see the light colour blending in this next photo.

And of course the fun part of a little decoration for the inside.

Amazing what you can do with just a simple stamp of grass! This card was cased from Paula Dobson of stampinantics.blogspot.ca. I changed the sentiment and grass stamp colour to Night of Navy.

Introducing Cucumber Crush - With Night of Navy

Yesterday I used Night of Navy as an accent colour with Delightful Dijon, and it turns out I'm using it on toady's card again. This colour combinations works very well and is great for kids; in particular, boys. So I turned to "Zoo Babies" with "Gorgeous Grunge" again.

The Cucumber Crush is a very bright green which is a great colour for Kids' cards. It will go well with other bright colours or dark colours.

The only thing popped up on this card is the scalloped oval and the cut out alligator.

Here is the inside of the card. Even with the "Congratulations" on the front, one could still stamp "Happy Birthday" on the inside.

I have a two year old grandson that I think will like this for his third birthday this year. I'm excited to see him for the first time next month!

Soft, Subtle Colour Palette

I just love it when colour combinations turn out beautiful! Granted it's a very subtle palette, but I really love how this one turned out. I had mentioned just a short time ago, on a previous post, that I am in need of more Thank You cards. Here is another one.

 You can see that on the squares the same stamp that was used for the background, is stamped in colour using the Wisteria Wonder & Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers.

 This is a super easy and real quick card that can be put together.

Let's check out what I did inside. When I use Whisper White or Very Vanilla I like to add to the inside of the card a layer or two, to give it some strength for when the card is displayed.

Again, I really love this colour combination, and hope that you did too.

Tomorrow's card is even easier! And uses the same Artisan Label punch along with another (new one for me), and very little stamping. So be sure to check in tomorrow again.
