First Sight Mothers Day for a Friend 3

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY LADIES!

HOPE THAT YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY! Despite it's challenges, being a Mom is wonderful! Whether you have children, or not, you are a mother when you teach, nurture, help and serve others. It's all under motherhood.....

I wish the photos would better show all the gold embossing on this card. But I've certainly had a lot of fun making these last three cards with the "First Sight" stamp set. I did make a mistake on this card, however. I had wanted to use the words within this stamp set to read "I Love Mother Forever". I just forgot when I was applying the Versamark to the stamps.

On the bottom layer of white I scored from behind to make a frame at 1/4" all the way around. The I punched the four little hearts using the "Itty Bitty" punch set, and scored another line over the hearts to create a frame around them.

For the sentiment piece, after heat embossing the gold sentiment, I again scored a frame from behind at 1/8" & 1/4". It looks great!

In the next photo you can see how I popped up the layers.

In the corners I gold heat embossed and had in mind to stamp over with the Rose Red. I kinda messed up the inside a bit. I meant to off stamp the Rose Red first, and forgot. Then I went and accidentally smudged the ink before it dried!

Thank you for having a look at the Mothers Day cards of the last three days.

Card Base - Rose Red - 4 1/4 x 11 (5 1/2)
Whisper White - 3 1/2 x 4 3/4
Rose Red - 3 x 3 1/4
Whisper White - 2 7/8 x 3 1/8
Inside Whisper White - 3 3/4 x 5

Be sure to stop by tomorrow, for a posting of one of my classes for the JUNE Scrapbook Parade Crop classes. I only have one to show for now, because I'm waiting to for my order of the new catalogue product to arrive when I get back from the wedding. I will make something new from them and then post the rest of the classes.

Happy Stamping everyone!

Two More 3 x 3 Boxed Gift Card Sets - Using Up Your Scraps

Sometimes you wonder if it's worth keeping most of our scraps. Believe me, as a demonstrator and instructor, I have a lot more than you may have. I'm getting better at not hording them, but one great way to use up your scraps is making 3 x 3 Gift Cards, and even better is making a set of them in a box!

On Friday, I showed you one set that used one entire 12 x 12 sheet of paper. Today I'm showing you two sets made with a bunch of scraps!

These two boxes have a large sentiment on the front, "Enjoy the Little Things" from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue.

Next, you see the card box open with the ten 3 x 3 cards and their envelopes.

Each of the cards is using up scraps from the English Garden DSP series in the Annual Catalogue, and each card has a little sentiment punched out with the "Word Window" punch and back with other punched cardstock pieces.

Here is the second box of little cards, this one all dressed up in pink (Melon Mambo).

Box opened, revealing the ten cards and their envelopes.

And again, each of the cards is using up scraps from the English Garden DSP, and again each card has a little sentiment punched out with the "Word Window" punch and back with other punched cardstock pieces. Some are stamped on the inside, and others are not.

I didn't take a shot of one or two cards individually, so next is one that has been cropped more closely. Hope you can see a little of some of the details.

Cute little cards to add to a gift ,or a quick note into a lunch, backpack, briefcase or suitcase. Also make a great gift to give a hostess at a dinner, or for a party.

Thank you for stopping by to have a look. If you'd like to make 3 x 3 card stets to use up your scraps, I've included the main things I've used below.

Happy Stamping!

Wetlands 7

You'll have noticed that with each "Wetlands" card I post, they become more detailed. But I think I should have switched the post around for today. This one is just a bit easier than the one I posted for this morning.

Masking just a corner and stamping the image just off of it, is very aesthetically pleasing.

Here, in this close up, you can see that I scored a border from behind on the left and bottom of the card. I also stamped the goose on the card as well as on a piece of scrap to colour, cut out and pop up over the stamped goose. Something that I like to do.

Next you can see the entire card from the side.

The Old Olive certainly works well with Early Espresso, don't you think?

Well, we'll see you tomorrow for "Wetlands" # 8 & 9!

In the mean time, happy stamping!
