Birthday Card for My 2 Year Old Grandson

February 14th is my youngest grandson's birthday, and this year he turned two. This past year I have been getting back into crocheting and have started working on crocheting afghans for my 8 grandchildren. Every Christmas is one family, and then the next. So when I started thinking what could I possibly crochet for my eldest son's family that live in Phoenix, where it's hot all the time...well my son said that the teenage girls would still appreciate afghans, and my little grandson would love booties and a pullover sweater for the cooler days. My thought was it doesn't ever get cool down there, does it?

Well I went ahead and made his some slipper booties for his birthday, and plan to send him a pullover for Christmas. But that's not what this post is all about...it's about the card!

He loves to be outdoors and so I created this card for him.

I coloured the bird using the new Watercolour pencils and a blender pen.

Not because his birthday is on Valentines Day did I stamp hearts and a kiss, but because if I were there I would give him hugs and kisses.

So now I just wait and see if he likes his slippers and card...

Thank you for stopping by today to have a look, and for putting up with some of my 'Grandma' stuff.

Happy creating!

Monochromatic with Floral Boutique & Floral Phrases

I'm pretty sure that I am having a great time in Vancouver at the Stampin' Up! Event right now...

Colour is always fun to play with, and sometimes a card all in one colour with any neutral, can be quick appealing.  In June, when this DSP came out, everyone loved it, including me. However, I haven't done much with it until a few days ago. Here is another card using this lovely DSP on a 'Z' Fold card.

A couple of photos showing the card from different angles...

Here is a close up of the stamped square.

...and here is the card open. A lot of writing space on the inside when you use both sides.

I like to use the 'celebrate you' sentiment, because it can be for birthdays or any other occasion to celebrate. I did not stamp a sentiment inside, because I want to reserve it for when I know for what occasion I am giving this card away.

Well, that's it for now. I'll be sure to tell you all about my Stampin' Up event sometime next week!

Happy Stamping & Creating!

Feminine Birthday Flowers

Well, I've now posted all my cards for the November 12th Christmas Card class, and while I'm away at Stampin' Up's event, I'm sharing some other cards with you that may end up in a future class.

I cased this card, changing the shape, from a blog by Kim Williams, who posted this card created by her friend Karen Barber. I love the colours, and knew that my customers would love to case this card in a class.

A close up of the sentiment...

...and another of the stamped and die cut flowers and leaves.

There are a few popped up layers for this card, as you can see below.

I didn't stamp inside but used some of the scraps from the 6 x 6 piece I allotted myself to use.

And here, again, is this lovely feminine card.

Local customers, let me know in a comment (or email me) if you wish to see this card in a future class. Thanks.

Happy Stamping & Creating!
