Birthday Card for My 2 Year Old Grandson

February 14th is my youngest grandson's birthday, and this year he turned two. This past year I have been getting back into crocheting and have started working on crocheting afghans for my 8 grandchildren. Every Christmas is one family, and then the next. So when I started thinking what could I possibly crochet for my eldest son's family that live in Phoenix, where it's hot all the time...well my son said that the teenage girls would still appreciate afghans, and my little grandson would love booties and a pullover sweater for the cooler days. My thought was it doesn't ever get cool down there, does it?

Well I went ahead and made his some slipper booties for his birthday, and plan to send him a pullover for Christmas. But that's not what this post is all about...it's about the card!

He loves to be outdoors and so I created this card for him.

I coloured the bird using the new Watercolour pencils and a blender pen.

Not because his birthday is on Valentines Day did I stamp hearts and a kiss, but because if I were there I would give him hugs and kisses.

So now I just wait and see if he likes his slippers and card...

Thank you for stopping by today to have a look, and for putting up with some of my 'Grandma' stuff.

Happy creating!

Wonderful Year & Holly Folder with Layering Circles Dies

Love those little 'jingle bells' found on page 29 of the Holiday Catalogue, and found a way to use them on the card for the November 21st card class. I also love the 'Holly' embossing folder and used it here as well. Another fun thing to do is using your Stamp & Write Markers to colour your stamps! Which we get to do for this class.

Love those Layering Framelits too; the circles in this case. I wondered about inking the embossed 'Holly' but decided to leave it as is.

Side view shows the band and circle is popped up with dimensionals.

Kept the inside simple again with just stamping a sentiment.

One more card to show you for the November 21st Christmas Card class, so be sure to stop by again tomorrow for a peek.

Happy stamping!

Blooms & Bliss DSP with Butterfly Basics

There are so many products that inspire creativity, and one of those are my favorite Aqua Painters. Using the well loved Butterfly Basics stamp set, and my Aqua Painters I created this card to share with you today. I love this colour combination! (Wild Wasbai, Dapper Denim,& Mint Macaron in the DSP, with Sweet Sugarplum)

Here is a close up of the Aqua Painted Butterfly Basics tag on the card.

And here is a close up of the Floral Affection embossed strip. (Love these two little embossing folders)

Here in the side view you see that the tag is the only thing popped up with dimensionals, and that makes mailing this card to someone easy.

Inside, I Aqua Painted a portion of the stamp to complete this card. I haven't decided what this card will be for, so I am reserving the inside sentiment stamp for the right stamp when the time comes to use this card.

I have two more cards coming using the same sheet of DSP from Blooms & Bliss, so be sure to check in to have a peek. Until then, happy stamping everyone!

I forgot to add the Dapper Denim ink pad with the other colours.
