Card Swap - Part 2

Welcome back! Here are the last six of the 11 cards I received at the VanIsle Stampin' Up meeting card swap.

So let's have a closer look at them. Each photo has the name of the Stampin' Up Demonstrator that created it.

This first one is made with two of my favorite stamps & punches.

This one is a lot of fun with lots of paper layering details.

So there you have the 11 cards I received at the VanIsle Group meeting 'Thank You' card swap. Hope you enjoyed the tour the last two days and are inspired. I didn't participate in the 'Birthday' or All Ocassion' card swaps, but there were some great cards created there too.

Over the next few days I will be sharing the Make & Takes I did at the meeting, so come back tomorrow.

Happy Stamping everyone!

Card Swap - Part 1

Continuing on with the VanIsle Group meeting goodies I'm sharing, today I will show you five of the 11 'Thank You' cards I received at the swap.

I'll show you each card individually and each photo will have the name of the Stampin' Up Demonstrator that created the card.

Love the added glitter in the flower centers on this card. Next is the inside.

Fun detail on this image! See how it is layered, next.

Beautiful butterfly on this card, and check out the stamp inside the card.

And, the last one I'm showing you today is using the fun Bokeh Technique.

Swapping cards is a lot of fun! Hope that you are inspired by the designs of these Stampin' Up Demonstrators. Tomorrow I will show the remaining six, and then I will share some of the things I made at the Make & Takes. Feel free to ask any questions about these cards.

Happy Stamping!

Thank You Text Frame

Yesterday, I mentioned about attending the Vancouver Island Stampin' Up meeting in Naniamo on Saturday. I also mentioned that I participated in a Thank You card swap. there were three different swap categories we could enter. We could enter one, two, or all three categories. Since this was my first time, I opted to enter one, the "Thank You" category.

Because I wanted to create a text, or sentiment, frame, I chose to create a side fold square card.

Again, I did not use Whisper White, but used Naturals White because the flecks in the cardstock go so well with the Crumb Cake cardstock.

I used the Sheltering Tree flower/leaves stamp of the set to create the dotted border in the center square. In the 2" circle I stamped the Indescribable Gift blossom branch and used a Dauber to gently ink the center of the blossoms. I also stamped a second section of the stamp to fussy cut out the one blossom that I popped up with a dimensional after colouring the center in the same manner.

It may have been better to have fussy cut just the center of the blossom rather than the entire blossom, so I will try that in the future. I really like the effect of the text/sentiment frame and will definitely be using that idea again.

Why don't you give creating a text frame a try on your next card! You can see waht I used to make this card, below.

Happy stamping!
