Frosted Medallion Card in Spring Colours

Wouldn't you know it. The day I decided to post a Spring/Summer/feminine card, is the day we get our first Fall rainy day... After yesterday's monochromatic Christmas card I was in the mood to create something light and feminine. I ended up casing a card by Elizabeth Gross - loved the colours and use of the Frosted Medallions.

In the close up below you can see that used my Aqua Painters and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

Next we see one of the stamp set's sentiments...

...and the layering of the card. The inside of the medallion and the sentiment banners are the only things that are popped up with dimensionals.

For the inside, I stamped another of the sentiments of this set.  I believe that this sentiment will coordinate with many different kind of celebrations.

Well that's it for today. I'm off to a day of fun with my Seashore Stampers group.

Happy stamping!

This is the third and final week of the September Special Offers! And this is a great set of deals for card makers that need to put something together quickly or for traditional or pocket scrapbookers! These items are at 25% off!

Floral Phrases & Detailed Floral Thinlits - Brights

OK, this one will definately NOT be a part of a class. I was experimenting with this card, and it is a little too involved for a class. But, I am happy to show it to you and those experienced card makers that want to give it a try, go to it.

I was in the mood for brights! (Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, & Melon Mambo) I also wanted to surprise the receiver of the card. They would be expecting the Bermuda Bay to be on the inside of the card as it is the liner to the Detailed Floral Die.

However, when opened there pops the Melon Mambo behind more Olive Green Detailed Floral die cuts. Those two front card flaps are four layers of cardstock, making it quite thick. I had to add an extra layer of cardstock to the back of the card to support the front card flaps.

As an afterthought, I was thinking that maybe having the interior die cuts in Bermuda Bay, rather than Old Olive,  might have looked a bit better.

Experimenting with ideas is fun, and the process always teaches you something new. I encourage you to experiment too.

Happy creating!

Floral Phrases - CAS Neutrals

It's always refreshing to make a Clean and Simple (CAS) card design. Using neutrals (Tip Top Taupe, Sahara Sand, & Very Vanilla), with no colouring, fussy cutting, punch es or dies, and very little stamping, this card is quick and easy. I, however, could not resist layers, lol.

Again, this is a card that will be easy to mail as it only has the sentiment strip popped up with dimensionals, as you see in the photo below.

I kept the inside clean and simple with just a part of the stamp, and off stamped first to lighten the colour a bit on the inside.

One thing about CAS cards, is that there isn't much to say about it. That won't be true of tomorrow's card. Lots of details for that one. Looking forward to sharing that it with you too.

Happy stamping!
