Swirly Bird - Sunset Sailing

It is always nice to go back to some of the older techniques learned to create a new card. Today's card has a sun set background created with 1" wide masking tape! And, the Swirly Bird stamp set (141749) is used for the sun and sailboat.

This scene makes you think of a calm lake or sea shore, which relaxes you and makes you happy just thinking of it. For that reason I chose the sentiment from the stamp set Bunch of Blossoms (141573).

I used my clear Wink of Stella on the sun and water, which barely shows up in this photo.

The side view reveals that the sentiment oval is popped up with dimensionals over a bit of the Burlap Ribbon.

On the inside I stamped another sail boat. The wink of Stella kind of came out looking like a shadow in this photo.

That's it! A real fun card using a fun old technique. Too bad I didn't notice my crooked sentiment before taking the photos and posting it. I have corrected it and it looks better straight, lol.

Thank you for stopping by to have a peek today.

Happy Stamping!

2016 Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek - Totally Trees 4

Creating a scene with your stamps is always a fun creative activity, and this stamp set is great fro that. This being the 4th of this stamp set, you may be wanting to add this to your 2016 Holiday Catalogue Wish List!

Today's tree is the Palm tree in this set so I created a tropical beach scene.

I popped up the entire matted scene with dimensionals, and then the banner as well. You can better see that in the next side view photo.

And, the inside...

Like I said, a lot of fun!

This is my 4th card using this set, and I still haven't used all of the trees yet! So many more ideas to execute!

Happy stamping!

Thoughtful Branches Bundle - Limited Edition for Aug #4

As stampers and paper crafters, we are always thinking ahead. Have any of you begun to think about 'Fall Themes', 'Back to School' or 'Thanksgiving'? Since I have already shown you a couple of Christmas cards made with the 'Thoughtful Branches' stamp set, I figured I should create for 'Fall' as well. Random stamping to create your own 'DSP-like' background is always great fun!

To create this watercolour look, I stamped Delightful Dijon and Cajun Craze onto a clear block, misted it with water, and inked my stamp from there and then stamped the leaves all over the page. I used 'Always Artichoke' for the little green leaves.

You will note the banner on the card is from the new stamps set 'Beautiful Banners'.

I stamped a copy onto computer paper and then cut out the the center shape. After stamping the actual one onto Whisper White cardstock and the sentiment as well, I used the two pieces to ink the banner as you see below.

In the side view photo below, you will see that the banner is the only layer that  has been popped up with dimensionals.

I used this same stamping technique on the inside of the card.

I think that this would make a lovely Thanks giving card as well as a Fall themed Thank You card.

Tomorrow I will be showing you a card that uses more of the 'Beautiful Branches' die set along with this this stamp set. So be sure to stop by for a look.

Happy stamping!
