Birthday Card for My 2 Year Old Grandson

February 14th is my youngest grandson's birthday, and this year he turned two. This past year I have been getting back into crocheting and have started working on crocheting afghans for my 8 grandchildren. Every Christmas is one family, and then the next. So when I started thinking what could I possibly crochet for my eldest son's family that live in Phoenix, where it's hot all the time...well my son said that the teenage girls would still appreciate afghans, and my little grandson would love booties and a pullover sweater for the cooler days. My thought was it doesn't ever get cool down there, does it?

Well I went ahead and made his some slipper booties for his birthday, and plan to send him a pullover for Christmas. But that's not what this post is all about...it's about the card!

He loves to be outdoors and so I created this card for him.

I coloured the bird using the new Watercolour pencils and a blender pen.

Not because his birthday is on Valentines Day did I stamp hearts and a kiss, but because if I were there I would give him hugs and kisses.

So now I just wait and see if he likes his slippers and card...

Thank you for stopping by today to have a look, and for putting up with some of my 'Grandma' stuff.

Happy creating!

Happy Valentines Day!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! (I almost forgot to post this!)

You will recall my previous post 'Flying Bumble Bees', well, before I made that card I had made this one. It has floating, or dancing hearts, if you will. Same card just different DSP, stamps, and dies.

Can you see the Window Sheet strips? They have hearts attached at the ends. I should have taken a better side view photo for you. But just like the bumble bee card, these hearts can dance about with just a poke or shake of the card.

The other side view...

Each little envelope has a tiny card that can be pulled out and read (love those tiny envelope dies).
Sometimes a lot of little parts can be so much fun to put together in a project.

Hope that your Valentines Day is going well for you and that you are sharing your love with all your family, and friends.

Happy creating!

Flying Bumble Bees

Yesterday, a customer and friend, got together with some of her sisters to have a fun card making class party, and this is one of the cards that we made.

She specifically asked to make a card like this based on a card class from about four years ago. (see here, here, and here ) I haven't seen a bumble bee in years, and they are so cute looking compared to the other bees we more commonly see. Any way, an avid gardener would love this card, and two of the ladies that were there, are just that. They loved it! It is always fun to shake the card and see the bees move around.

As you can see in the photo above, and the one below, the bees are attached to strips of window sheets.

A couple of close ups...

Because this was not a regular class, I felt we could play a bit more and I ended up using four different stamp sets to create the is card. (Dragonfly Dreams, Butterfly Basics, Avant-Garden, and Picture Perfect) There was a fair bit of fussy cutting, but as I always say, 'it was worth the effort.'

This is an A7 card (5" x 7"), and the instructions on how to cut and fold this card base are found on the third 'here' click above, or here.

We had a lovely time yesterday creating four detailed cards that took about 5 , 5 1/2 hours to complete. A great way to get together with your sisters and have fun. Or, other family members, and friends too.

Thank you for stopping by today to have a peek.

Happy stamping!

Drangonfly Dreams - Home Decor

Since I've been posting home decor projects, I might as well show you this one too, as it was also on the 2017 Occasions display table at the Open House.  I have this one sitting on a low, under the window, shelving unit. I love how when the sun comes in the window and picks up the gold foil or the Clear Wink of Stella on the dragonfly wings.

A close up view... and you can see the Wink of Stella on this photo. This dragonfly is paper pieced and well worth the effort.

This project is so quick and easy to put together. I picked up a bunch of these frames at the Dollar Store about 3 years ago, and this is the last one to be used. I wish they still had them.

Thank you for checking in again, to have a peek. Happy creating!
