Onstage Make & Take #4 - Sneak Peek

This is an exciting post for those of you that like to colour! Stampin' Up! will be bringing out Watercolour Pencils and Colouring DSP in the new 2017 Occasions & Sale-A-Bration Ccatalogues!

For the last OnStage Make & Take we were given the use of these products to create this card.

I can hardly wait to show you these products. We will have some fun with them in the new year, so look for those classes, or book a party with these as the focus of your event.

We coloured one of the pieces so that you could see both the colouring paper blank and coloured in.

Love the bumble bee, don't you?

Here is a closer look. We used the Blender Pens after colouring, but I would love to try it with a light touch from the Aqua Painters to see the results.

If you'd like to book a party to experiment with these products in the new year, contact me, and together we will make this happen for you. January and February is a great time to have a party to get out of the 'after Christmas slump' or 'Winter blues'.

I plan to have my Occasions & Sale-A-Bration Open House on January 14th at the Scrapbook Parade Crop held at the Langford Legion Hall. Hope to see you there!

Happy Creating!

Onstage Make & Take #2 - Sneak Peek

Today I am continuing on with my Onstage Make & Takes Sneak Peek. This card was created by our very own Seashore Stampers leader and demonstrated in front of everyone at Onstage Vancouver! She did such a wonderful job with her presentation.

This card samples the beautiful new "Falling in Love" DSP (page 51 in 2017 Occasions) and the gorgeous "So Detailed" thinlit dies (page 52 in 2017 Occasions). All of the DSP has Bokeh photo images on one side (as seen here) with a design pattern on the other, and the thinlits are three. With the one used here, a belly band was created for the card.

The lovely Very Vanilla ribbon and the Very Vanilla charm are also a great embellishment that will be available in the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.

Next you can see the card closer up.

...and here is the card without the delicate belly band, showing you the beautiful colours of this bokeh  photo print.

The belly band always reminds me of a wedding, looking a little like the bride's garter.

Be sure to check these out when you get your 2017 Occasions Catalogue.

See you tomorrow with another Onstage Make & Take card.

Happy Creating!

VanIsle Stampin' UP Meeting Make & Take - Double Business Card Holder

Hello everyone!

Hope your weekend is a good one whether your are busy, relaxing, or having fun.

Yesterday I attended our VanIsle Stampin' Up! meeting in Nanaimo. Since I became a SU Demonstrator  a year and a half ago, I have never volunteered to create a Make & Take for this meeting, so I thought it was about time I did.

As a Demonstrator I like to keep business cards on me at all times, but it's hard to fine a business card holder that holds a lot of cards or doesn't cost too much. So I decided to see if I could create one myself. I figured that if I created a deep pocket for my cards they would inevitably end up loose and shaking about. So to solve that problem, I thought that two narrower pockets for cards would work better. And, if a Demonstrator has business cards for work as well as for Stampin' Up! then there are two pockets that can hold each.

Here is a collage of the holder that I made for myself.

So for the meeting yesterday I made 35 kits in seven different colours and showed everyone how to assemble their business card holder.

Everyone wanted to know where to get the brass metal corner protectors. I get them from ButterBee Scraps . Here is the direct link to the corners, and the direct link to the small disc magnets I use.

If you do not wish to use metal corner protectors you can strengthen your corners using cardstock as you see in this next photo showing the corner done both ways. How to do this is also included in the instructions.

I also promised to have the instructions with measurements on today's blog post. They are listed under my instructions tab at the top of my blog, but if you click here you can access the link and print out your FREE PDF instructions as well.

I should have taken some photos of everyone working on their business card holder to share with you today, but I didn't think of it at the time.

Hope that you will enjoy working on this little project!

Sharing My VanIsle Meeting Make & Takes

OK, I said I would share with the Make & Takes that I made at our last meeting.

This first card has a very interesting, and very fun technique using three marbles with a drop of Ink Refill on each in a wide full size wood block stamp case. You lightly attach your paper to one side and then close the case and roll the marbles around. You do that for each colour you wish to use, one case for each colour. It's addictive, and so fun to see what pattern you get each time.

This next Make & Take is a match book large enough to hold a gift card, folded bills, or in this case a sample of lotion.  The stamp set "Enjoy the Little Things" was used to make this. It's a quick and easy project and is great for hostess gift at a dinner you have for your friends, parties, showers, etc.

I didn't get the ribbon at the Make & Take so this Sale-A-Bration Baker's Twine is all I had to used for this project.

I love the colours on this Ink Resist card. I would have loved to use So Saffron for the card base, but being one of the last to get to this Make & Take, I ended up with a white card base. Inks used were So Saffron, Pool Party, & Mint Macaron. This "Awesomely Artistic" stamp set is next on my order list!

The last Make & Take I'm showing you is like a two page card. The "Grateful Bunch ? Blossom Punch bundle is used for this card.

Isn't this a great idea!? I plan to create my own designs using this style of card base.

Are you inspired with any of these? Have fun casing them or creating your version of these.

REMINDER: In two weeks Sale-A-Bration will be over, so be sure you have all your free product and maybe extra as gifts for your creative friends and family members!

Happy Stamping!
