Sneak Peek - Pun Intended - Bee - Hostess Stamp Set

Today I'm showing you the last three Sneak Peek cards for the series of cards I made using one of the new 2016-2017 Hostess Stamp Sets, "Pun Intended".  We've seen three cards made with the 'Camera', and three cards made with the 'Edison Light Bulb'. The last image in this set is the 'Bee', and here they are!

For this first card I used Tip Top Taupe, Pear Pizzazz, and the new In-Colour Peekaboo Peach. These three colours are also incorporated using one of the Gorgeous Grunge stamps to create the wide boarder on the side. The leaves are from the stamp set "Remarkable You", and the 'Tag punch' is no longer available after May 31st.

The bees are stamped onto Peekaboo Peach with Tip Top Taupe and their chevron stripes coloured in with the Tip Top Taupe Stampin' Write Marker. They were also stamped onto vellum with Archival Basic Gray. The wings were cut as one piece with the head and bottom cut off and then attached to the back of the bees cut out without their wings. (I did this will all the bees for these three cards, in different colours of course)

Using the colours of the bees, yellow and black, I created this layered card, using all the yellows except Hello Honey as it will no longer be available after May 31st. The edges of all these layers are adhered together with Tear & Tape, but the die cut circle edges are popped up with dimensionals.

You can see some more details in the collage image below.

For the third and last card for the 'Bee' series of this stamp set, I used Smoky Slate, So Saffron, and the new In-Colour Sweet Sugarplum. I have to laugh whenever I look at this card because I so carefully lined up everything with Washi Tape, but I suppose the cardstock moved anyway because the stamped arrows from the "Pun Intended" set ended up crooked/uneven. The flourish from First Sight looks great on the die cut heart.

I love the dangley little hearts that I attached to the larger heart, and it works well with the Falling Snow texture folder too. It's fun to shake the card a bit to watch them shake about.

Below you can see the details in the collage.

Well that's it for the Sneak Peek of the Hostess set Pun Intended. I do plan on using this set again for non-card projects in the future, so watch for them!

Thank you for stopping by today to have a look.

Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peek - Pun Intended - Camera - Hostess Stamp Set

The other day, I showcased four cards made using the "Lots of Love" new 2016-2017 Hostess Stamp
Set. In my Demonstrator pre-order I ordered another Hostess Set titled "Pun Intended"(141804). This is a great set for scrapbooking, Project life, Albums, or Cardmaking!! I plan to use this set throughout the next year for some of these genres. Today, it's cards. I was having so much fun with this set that I ended up making three cards per stamp - camera, Edison light bulb, and bee.

Today we are having a look at the camera cards. Here are all three.

As we look at them individually, we'll be going from left to right. This first one I know that my 12 or 14 year old granddaughters would love.

The "Lucky Stars" embossing folder will not be available in the new catalogue, but there is a very good replacement for it titled " Sparkle" (141468). I still haven't ordered my Wink of Stella so I used my Dazling Details on the stars. I think the Wink of Stella would look much better.

In the collage below you can see the inside of the card, and other details.

For the next camera card I played with water colouring the background using my new Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy (2016-2018 In-Colour) Stampin' Write Markers, Clear Block E, Stampin' Spritzer, and Aqua Painters. Aren't those colours beautiful?! I then dried paper with the Heat tool and stamped the camera on top.

This is a great card to send someone a photo or two. Just tuck them inside, write a little note, and send it off in the mail. Much better than emailing them a digital version...

Again, more details of this card in the collage below.

For the third and last camera card of this series, I used the new In-Colour Peekaboo Peach for the card base. The water colour splashed background I created using my Clear Block E, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write Marker, Stampin' Spritzer, Aqua Painters to spread it around on the block, and the wonderful Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. Once I had the colours on the block, I spritzed them with a fine mist of water, spread it around a bit with my Aqua Painter, then inked my stamp from it and stamped on Whisper White! Voila!

I also stamped two camera on Smoky Slate and fussy cut them out, layering them with dimensionals.

And, the inside with other photo details in the collage below.

Hope these cards have inspired you to have a party to earn your hostess stamp set! Or you can place a $200 order to get your choice of Hostess Stamp Sets after June 1st. And remember, you can earn an extra $40 in rewards during the month of June. (see details below) Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a look at the Edison Light Bulb series of cards using this stamp set.

Happy Stamping Everyone!

First Sight Mothers Day for a Friend 2

This is the second of the Mothers Day cards I made for for some of my friends using the "First Sight" stamp set. Again, I had to play with the sentiments and a Stampin' Write Marker, this time in Rose Red, to come up with a Mothers Day sentiment that wasn't directly to a 'Mom'.

I worked with Wild Wasbai, Rose Red, & Crumb Cake cardstock for this card. I also added the use of the "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set while off stamping twice before stamping on the card.

Two popped up layers for this card - the Rose Red matted Crumb Cake piece, and the Rose Red heart.

For the inside, I'm kind of wishing that I had not used the white and left it with the Crumb Cake.

The colour combination is not one that I would automatically go to automatically, it was one that I came up with with a little thought while looking at my stamp pads in front of me. I kind of like it, and think I will keep the the combo on my list to try again.

Wild Wasabi - 4 1/4 x 11 (5 1/2 folded)
Rose Red - 2 @ 5 x 3 3/4 (1 inside & 1 outside)
Crumb Cake - 1 @ 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 (outside), 1 @ 4 7/8 x 3 5/8 (inside)
Opptional: Whisper White - 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 (inside)

Happy Stamping!

The Wilderness Awaits - Duck

Here in Victoria BC, we have a lot of mallard ducks that can be found in great number at Beacon Hill Park. Knowing the colours of the duck, I was trying to figure out how to get that iridescent blue/green colouring of their heads using the Stampin' Write Marker colours available to us. Using the artist 'pointalism' technique I made dots on the head combining Island Indigo & Wild Wasabi.

This is the second card I'm showing you for the masculine card class in June.

I coloured the duck I stamped on the card as well as a second duck to cut out and pop over the one stamped on the card. The next photo shows a close up of the colouring.

For the water I did use the Blending tool as well.

In the side view below, you can see the layered duck.

I love the pop of the Island Indigo banner added to the card with the other two colours; colours that the duck has.

Thank you for stopping by to have a look at this card. Looking forward to this class in June.

Happy Stamping!
