Sneak Peek - Pun Intended - Bee - Hostess Stamp Set

Today I'm showing you the last three Sneak Peek cards for the series of cards I made using one of the new 2016-2017 Hostess Stamp Sets, "Pun Intended".  We've seen three cards made with the 'Camera', and three cards made with the 'Edison Light Bulb'. The last image in this set is the 'Bee', and here they are!

For this first card I used Tip Top Taupe, Pear Pizzazz, and the new In-Colour Peekaboo Peach. These three colours are also incorporated using one of the Gorgeous Grunge stamps to create the wide boarder on the side. The leaves are from the stamp set "Remarkable You", and the 'Tag punch' is no longer available after May 31st.

The bees are stamped onto Peekaboo Peach with Tip Top Taupe and their chevron stripes coloured in with the Tip Top Taupe Stampin' Write Marker. They were also stamped onto vellum with Archival Basic Gray. The wings were cut as one piece with the head and bottom cut off and then attached to the back of the bees cut out without their wings. (I did this will all the bees for these three cards, in different colours of course)

Using the colours of the bees, yellow and black, I created this layered card, using all the yellows except Hello Honey as it will no longer be available after May 31st. The edges of all these layers are adhered together with Tear & Tape, but the die cut circle edges are popped up with dimensionals.

You can see some more details in the collage image below.

For the third and last card for the 'Bee' series of this stamp set, I used Smoky Slate, So Saffron, and the new In-Colour Sweet Sugarplum. I have to laugh whenever I look at this card because I so carefully lined up everything with Washi Tape, but I suppose the cardstock moved anyway because the stamped arrows from the "Pun Intended" set ended up crooked/uneven. The flourish from First Sight looks great on the die cut heart.

I love the dangley little hearts that I attached to the larger heart, and it works well with the Falling Snow texture folder too. It's fun to shake the card a bit to watch them shake about.

Below you can see the details in the collage.

Well that's it for the Sneak Peek of the Hostess set Pun Intended. I do plan on using this set again for non-card projects in the future, so watch for them!

Thank you for stopping by today to have a look.

Happy Stamping!

Unique Wedding Card 2

OK, so this is the third card I made in search of a wedding card to give to my daughter on her wedding day. Her colours were Black and Purple, while her partner's were Black and Red. So I thought maybe I would try and make a lighter card using only the black & purple. I used a non Stampin' Up! embossing folder on the purple because I didn't have a SU one that would go with the stamped flourishes of the First Sight stamp set.

After stamping the flourishes, I added some little Rhinestones on them as well as a nice line of them under the sentiment as you see below.

The white section is popped up with dimensionals as you see in the side view below.

I lost the photo of the inside, so I can't show it to you. But I just had off stamped flourishes in the upper left (smaller) and lower right (a little larger) corners.

Tomorrow I will show you the final of the three, but the second one I made. This is the card I ended up giving the couple, even though it is a very different kind of wedding card.

Happy Stamping! Be sure to check out how you can earn extra Stampin' Rewards at the end of this post.

Extra Stampin' Rewards & Unique Wedding Card 1

Hello Everyone!

Two things going on in today's post. First I'm sharing with you something that Stampin' Up! announced today.

1)

2)

I am back and real excited to come home to my new annual catalogue product order. I will take some photos to share with you at a later date. In the mean time, while I work on some new creations from some of the new products coming up in the June catalogue, some of you have asked what I made for my daughter's wedding card. Well the truth be told, I actually made three cards! First I had a thought to combine the colours of the wedding; black, red & purple. So using First Sight, I came up with this card.

I used the small leafed swirl, of this stamp set, around the edge of the purple cardstock creating a frame. The only thing popped up on this 9 1/4 x 4 card is the red heart, and the Red matted Vanilla piece as you can see in the two photos below...

The five punched out hearts look beautiful even with the vanilla hearts on the vanilla backing.

As you can see it was a fairly easy card to create. On the inside, I used the larger swirl stamp in each of the corners, off stamping first. Though I did forget to do it on one corner.

I decided not to use this card as it reminded me too much of the Women's group that wears Red & Purple hats, plus it didn't look much like a wedding card to me. I was later told by one of my daughters that it did look like a wedding card. I'm still not convinced it does, lol. Anyway, tomorrow I will show you another of the three cards I made for my youngest daughter's wedding before I chose the one to give her.

Here are the measurements, in case you wish to use this design with different colours.

Black Card Base: Cut 9 1/4 x 8 - Score with 8 across the top @ 4" and fold with bone folder

Card Front: Real Red - 8 1/2 x 3 1/4, Elegant Eggplant - 8 3/8 x 3 1/8, Real Red - 7 5/8 x 2 3/8, Very Vanilla - 7 1/2 x 2 1/4

Inside Card: Elegant Eggplant - 8 1/2 x 3 1/4, Real Red - 8 3/8 x 3 1/8, Very Vanilla - 8 1/4 x 3

Thank you for stopping by to have a look at today's card.

Happy Stamping!

First Sight Mothers Day for a Friend 3

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY LADIES!

HOPE THAT YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY! Despite it's challenges, being a Mom is wonderful! Whether you have children, or not, you are a mother when you teach, nurture, help and serve others. It's all under motherhood.....

I wish the photos would better show all the gold embossing on this card. But I've certainly had a lot of fun making these last three cards with the "First Sight" stamp set. I did make a mistake on this card, however. I had wanted to use the words within this stamp set to read "I Love Mother Forever". I just forgot when I was applying the Versamark to the stamps.

On the bottom layer of white I scored from behind to make a frame at 1/4" all the way around. The I punched the four little hearts using the "Itty Bitty" punch set, and scored another line over the hearts to create a frame around them.

For the sentiment piece, after heat embossing the gold sentiment, I again scored a frame from behind at 1/8" & 1/4". It looks great!

In the next photo you can see how I popped up the layers.

In the corners I gold heat embossed and had in mind to stamp over with the Rose Red. I kinda messed up the inside a bit. I meant to off stamp the Rose Red first, and forgot. Then I went and accidentally smudged the ink before it dried!

Thank you for having a look at the Mothers Day cards of the last three days.

Card Base - Rose Red - 4 1/4 x 11 (5 1/2)
Whisper White - 3 1/2 x 4 3/4
Rose Red - 3 x 3 1/4
Whisper White - 2 7/8 x 3 1/8
Inside Whisper White - 3 3/4 x 5

Be sure to stop by tomorrow, for a posting of one of my classes for the JUNE Scrapbook Parade Crop classes. I only have one to show for now, because I'm waiting to for my order of the new catalogue product to arrive when I get back from the wedding. I will make something new from them and then post the rest of the classes.

Happy Stamping everyone!
