Petal Burst Embossing Folder & Botanical Blooms Builder with Thankful Thoughts

Some of you will be wondering why I haven't posted anything for a few days. After so many health problems and declining health since April 2015, my Mom passed away Wednesday, June 22 in the early morning hours. I have been so busy helping my Dad to get everything arranged for the funeral to come. I'm afraid that for the next couple of weeks, postings will continue to be sporadic because of the funeral, and family coming to visit for a while.

This morning I just had to get to my craft room to create something. So I chose to make something that was quick and easy using the new Petal Burst Embossing Folder I received just a few days ago. I have other ideas for this folder, but as I said, I'm keeping it simple today.

I love  using the Botanical Builder Framelits! You can create simple cards or elaborate card filled with dimensional blooms and foliage! The Petal Burst folder adds some lovely texture behind the bloom.

In the photo below if is difficult to see that the Wild Wasabi layer has been popped up with dimensionals. Of course you can choose not to do this.

I chose not to stamp an image inside this time as the sentiment takes up enough space. I just matted the Whisper White piece inside the card.

So, below you can see the product I used to make this card. I'm looking forward to creating more with both the Petal Burst folder & the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.

'Til next time happy stamping!

Jason's Birthday - Another 'The Wilderness Awaits' Card

Today I will will be busy unpacking and settling back into home life after the wedding in Boise, ID. For those of you that attend my classes, I'm sure I will be telling you all about the occasion. This is still a scheduled post, and possibly tomorrow I will have something new to add for you.

Before going to Boise, I made all my children and grand children's birthday cards to bring along with me to hand deliver them. My eldest son has his birthday the beginning of July, so I decided to use my new "The Wilderness Awaits" stamp set again. I hope you don't mind. I also used the "Botanical Builder" die set.

For the coloured corners, I placed Post-It Notes diagonally across the card and sponged Chocolate Chip ink on the corners. When you place another layer of cardstock over it, you get the look of oversized photo corners.

To colour in the fox I used a Q-Tip with Chocolate Chip and Cajun Craze ink pads. The grass was coloured with Wild Wasabi and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers. I also used the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker for the faux stitching

On the inside just a simple frame of faux stitching and a partial stamp of the fox again.

Thank you for checking in again for another Wilderness Awaits card. Looking forward to our next card class with the Botanical Gard DSP on the 23rd & 24th!

Happy creating!
