The First One I Made...

Just a couple of days ago, I posted a lovely wedding card for the Global Dream Theme Blog Hop. I did not tell you that the card I posted was actually the second card I made for the Hop. After encouragement from friends, I'm also sharing with the the first card I made but wasn't happy with. After the comments of friends, I am starting to see that this card isn't terrible like I thought it was.

Just as you saw the used of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper on the card posted, I used it here as well as a mat for the lovely lacy paper from the "Falling in Love" collection. I heat embossed the "Floral Phrases" stamp and sentiment over the DSP. I also used Dazzling Details (which sadly is no longer available) over the heat embossed floral stamp (which you can't really see in this photo).

The inside, just like in the one posted, I kept very simple by just stamping the sentiments and matting it. Hope that you like it.

Happy stamping everyone!

Dream Theme BLog Hop - Weddings

Welcome from Renate's blog!

Before we know it, weddings will be announced as the warmer weather comes along. It may be hard to think of that as many are still having problems with snow, and I know there are winter weddings too, but it is the warmer weather that seems to suddenly have you going to a lot of weddings. So with Spring and Summer weddings in mind, and bedazzling the bride, is what inspired this card. Oh, and there is nothing wrong with having some wedding cards at hand so that you don't have to rush at the last minute to create one.

As you can see I used the 'Floral Phrases Bundle' to create my wedding card with. This is a great 'go to set' for any kind of wedding project - invitations, cards, gift sets, boxes, wedding keepsakes, table decorations, luminaries, etc.

Dazzle the bride! Behind the die cut I have the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, and used it as scalloped died cut mat for the Stampin' Write Marker coloured stamping on the Stitched Square die cut, as you see in the photo below.

This side view shows the layering and the ones that are popped up.

I kept the inside very clean and simple by matting with the Pear Pizzaz, and stamping the sentiment with Flirty Flamingo.

Hope that you enjoyed this lacy sparkly card that a bride will love.

If you did not arrive here from Renate's blog, you can make the circle going back to hers and keep going back to the previous until you've made the completed tour, or you may go forward to Krista's (Jennifer will posting hers a little later today) and do the same by going forward to the next. Be sure to let them know how their creations have inspired you.

Monochromatic with Floral Boutique & Floral Phrases

I'm pretty sure that I am having a great time in Vancouver at the Stampin' Up! Event right now...

Colour is always fun to play with, and sometimes a card all in one colour with any neutral, can be quick appealing.  In June, when this DSP came out, everyone loved it, including me. However, I haven't done much with it until a few days ago. Here is another card using this lovely DSP on a 'Z' Fold card.

A couple of photos showing the card from different angles...

Here is a close up of the stamped square.

...and here is the card open. A lot of writing space on the inside when you use both sides.

I like to use the 'celebrate you' sentiment, because it can be for birthdays or any other occasion to celebrate. I did not stamp a sentiment inside, because I want to reserve it for when I know for what occasion I am giving this card away.

Well, that's it for now. I'll be sure to tell you all about my Stampin' Up event sometime next week!

Happy Stamping & Creating!

Floral Phrases & Detailed Floral Thinlits - Brights

OK, this one will definately NOT be a part of a class. I was experimenting with this card, and it is a little too involved for a class. But, I am happy to show it to you and those experienced card makers that want to give it a try, go to it.

I was in the mood for brights! (Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, & Melon Mambo) I also wanted to surprise the receiver of the card. They would be expecting the Bermuda Bay to be on the inside of the card as it is the liner to the Detailed Floral Die.

However, when opened there pops the Melon Mambo behind more Olive Green Detailed Floral die cuts. Those two front card flaps are four layers of cardstock, making it quite thick. I had to add an extra layer of cardstock to the back of the card to support the front card flaps.

As an afterthought, I was thinking that maybe having the interior die cuts in Bermuda Bay, rather than Old Olive,  might have looked a bit better.

Experimenting with ideas is fun, and the process always teaches you something new. I encourage you to experiment too.

Happy creating!
