Swirly Bird - Sunset Sailing

It is always nice to go back to some of the older techniques learned to create a new card. Today's card has a sun set background created with 1" wide masking tape! And, the Swirly Bird stamp set (141749) is used for the sun and sailboat.

This scene makes you think of a calm lake or sea shore, which relaxes you and makes you happy just thinking of it. For that reason I chose the sentiment from the stamp set Bunch of Blossoms (141573).

I used my clear Wink of Stella on the sun and water, which barely shows up in this photo.

The side view reveals that the sentiment oval is popped up with dimensionals over a bit of the Burlap Ribbon.

On the inside I stamped another sail boat. The wink of Stella kind of came out looking like a shadow in this photo.

That's it! A real fun card using a fun old technique. Too bad I didn't notice my crooked sentiment before taking the photos and posting it. I have corrected it and it looks better straight, lol.

Thank you for stopping by to have a peek today.

Happy Stamping!

When you say you did an "old technique with masking tape" could you explain that a bit better.???
Did you put the masking tape on the ink pad??? That's the only thing I can think of....

Card is so relaxing and I love the colours and effect of the whole composition of the card.
Lovely!!!
