Get Well Package - Thinking of You

I made this a while ago, in the hopes of getting my second on completed to show them together. The second one is a Christmas Gift Package, but I didn't quite get it done in time, so I'm just showing you this one.

This is the time of year when people begin to get sniffles, colds, and coughs, so I thought it might be fun to create a Get Well Package using the Stampin' Up! Wide Half Stamp Container (page 183 in the Annual Catalogue). The lovely patterns and colours of the Blooms & Bliss DSP are being used on this one.

Upon opening this package/container, you see
  • a small Dollar Store pen
  • a covered mini-composition note book with a whole year mini-calendar attached to the front
  • Halls cough drops covered in DSP
  • chapstick/lipbalm
  • and a tissue holder (instructions)

As you can see in the next photo, I attached everything inside using Velcro. I did not have any white, which I would have chosen if I did. A tip for those of you wanting to create your own, don't use as large pieces of Velcro as I did. Some of the items are a little harder to get out (like tissue box).

I also left space over the cough drops so that the pen wouldn't keep the box from closing.

Now I see that I forgot to add something. I had though of attaching a tea bag in a self made envelope attached to the left side of the case so that it would fold over the note book. Maybe I will still do that for the Christmas Gift Case.

Happy gift making!

Botanical Blooms - Part 1

Another weekend to spend some time crafting! Today I am showing one of four cards that will be a part of the Botanical Bundle class. I've already posted the Botanical Builders (die) class for April, and over the next few days I will be showing you the cards for the Botanical Blooms (stamps set) class.

Let's begin with this sympathy card. It looks a little like an ink resist card, but rather than heat embossing and blending the ink afterwards, this one is done in reverse. Ink blend first and then stamp with Archival Basic Black!

Black and Mint Macaron pair well and make for a striking colour combination.

From the Mint Macaron layer up, these three layers are adhered together and then popped up with dimensionals.

And, a little something on the inside of the card.

We'll see you tomorrow for card #2. Below are some of the product used to make this card.

Have fun creating this weekend and happy stamping!

"Wild About Flowers" Thinking of You

As I mentioned yesterday, today's card is another case. The original was designed by Kim from Stamping at the Warren. I did make a few slight changes to it. The card base is Early Espresso, and I used two different greens for the stems; Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz, and some of the Melon Mambo flowers are second stamped/off stamped.

The sentiment, below, is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the Note Tag punch. Linen Thread is looped in behind the tag. with a Gold Metallic button tied off with a bow at the top of the tag.

This was so much fun to stamp! I think I would like to try it with the watercolour technique on Watercolour paper.

Next, you see the side view showing the two layers that are popped up with dimensionals.

For the inside I just did a couple of corners in like manner of the front.

This turned out to be a bright and cheerful looking card. I wonder what it would look like in other colours? Maybe you could give it a try and let me know how it turned out. You could even send me a photo or link to yours in a comment.

Here is what I used to create this card.

Wetlands 8

I was wishing I hadn't run out of Delightful Dijon cardstock while I was making this card, because in my mind that is what I wanted. That being the case, and it probably would have been great, I ended up enjoying the combination of Crushed Curry with inking some Delightful Dijon on the Soft Suede.

I love the look of Watercolour paper. Tearing it off at the bottom is something I rarely do, but works well on this card. The peeking of the tall grasses from behind adds to the whole appearance of the card.

Just one layer is popped up, as seen above.

Inside, I just spread a little Delightful Dijon with a sponge and stamped the tall grass in the bottom corner. Simple, but effective.

See you tomorrow for "Wetlands" # 9 & 10!

Happy stamping!

Wetlands 1

Over the next few days I will be showing you cards created from the same stamp set.

OK, I'm still working on a couple of other larger projects, and of course it takes longer to complete these things than one thinks it will. I ran out of colour ink for my printer a couple of times, and editing photos takes awhile too. Compiling instructions doesn't happen with a blink of an eye either, no matter how much I wish it could. And life sometimes gets in the way too, lol!

When my Wetlands stamp set finally arrived last Thursday, and with that being the stamp for the class in the first week in September, I stopped working on the projects, and spent an entire day from 6:30am till 12;00pm working on 11 cards!

Now of course I can't use all of them for the class, and I can't take credit for their designs either. I did make tiny changes, but you can find them all on Pinterest. With my mind on the projects, it was taking too long to come up with ideas for originals. I just couldn't focus on the cards like I usually can. So I cased them for the class. Now all I need to do is to decide which of them to include for the class, or if I should have two different classes using the same stamp set. Happy to hear your opinions on the matter.

Let's see... which one to show you first. How about we start from the easiest and go to the more involved cards.

For this image I used the Mossy Meadow and blackberry Bliss Stampin' Write Markers. This is a clean and simple (CAS) card. A great one for mass producing gift sets for Christmas gifts!

And as always, a side view.

It's fun to do a little something on the inside. I used the same markers on the same stamp, for the inside of the card. Using the markers on stamps is such a fun technique!

Looking forward to showing you more cards created with this versatile and lovely stamp set. Perhaps I will show you two at a time after this.

Thanks for checking in and having a peek. Oh, I almost forget...I cased this card created by Jen Nelson from thebluebutterfly.blogspot.com

Happy Stamping!

Sheltering Tree - Thinking of You

I've had this stamp set for quite a while, but never go to using it for some reason other than for dotted backgrounds. So I thought I had better get at it! I made four of them, and will show them to you over the next few days.

Today's I used Basic Gray, Mint Macron, and Watermelon Wonder.

From the new Neutrals DSP Pad I used the Basic Gray diagonal stripe. Love the patterns in the new pads! Much better patterns.

And for the inside...

It is fun playing around with this set. I think a person could make umpteen cards, all different, with this set. Are you inspired? I have more to show you, so come back.

I think I would like to make some Home Decore Projects with this set some time, too!

Happy stamping!
