Dream Theme Blog Hop - Easter

Both my desktop and laptop computers went on the fritz within a week of each other. I just got them back from the repair shop just in the nick of time! It's Dream Theme Blog Hop time.

Welcome from Amy's blog!

Today we are sharing Easter creations! I have a card that involves a bit of fussy cutting using the SAB Avant-Garden stamp set and the beautiful Blooms & Bliss DSP. The piece of DSP I used reminds me so much of the cherry blossoms that fill many of our streets here in Victoria. Just this last Monday I noticed that a few of the streets were beginning to show that wonderful sign of Spring! I decided to create an A7 sized card this time (5 x 7) so that I could get a lot of lowers on the card.

It was an after thought to add the "Happy Easter" border which explains why it is upside down. I would have spaced everything better had I done is before adding the flowers. At least to me it looks upside down. In the photo below, you can see all the flowers and leaves I fussy cut after stamping, and arranged on the card. I decided that I did not want a monochromatic card and included yellow and blue flowers to the colour scheme. Colours associated with Spring colours.

In the side view below, you can see that I popped up the matted white rectangle as well as some of the flowers and the "Happy Easter" banner.

On the inside, I added my usual corner stamping. Since it is a larger card, there is plenty of space for it.

The next blog post to see is that of the very talented Jennifer!

Dream Theme BLog Hop - Weddings

Welcome from Renate's blog!

Before we know it, weddings will be announced as the warmer weather comes along. It may be hard to think of that as many are still having problems with snow, and I know there are winter weddings too, but it is the warmer weather that seems to suddenly have you going to a lot of weddings. So with Spring and Summer weddings in mind, and bedazzling the bride, is what inspired this card. Oh, and there is nothing wrong with having some wedding cards at hand so that you don't have to rush at the last minute to create one.

As you can see I used the 'Floral Phrases Bundle' to create my wedding card with. This is a great 'go to set' for any kind of wedding project - invitations, cards, gift sets, boxes, wedding keepsakes, table decorations, luminaries, etc.

Dazzle the bride! Behind the die cut I have the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, and used it as scalloped died cut mat for the Stampin' Write Marker coloured stamping on the Stitched Square die cut, as you see in the photo below.

This side view shows the layering and the ones that are popped up.

I kept the inside very clean and simple by matting with the Pear Pizzaz, and stamping the sentiment with Flirty Flamingo.

Hope that you enjoyed this lacy sparkly card that a bride will love.

If you did not arrive here from Renate's blog, you can make the circle going back to hers and keep going back to the previous until you've made the completed tour, or you may go forward to Krista's (Jennifer will posting hers a little later today) and do the same by going forward to the next. Be sure to let them know how their creations have inspired you.

Dream Theme International Blog Hop - Sealed With Love Bundle - Occasions 2017

Welcome from Renate's blog! Have you seen some wonderful creations so far?

I used to just love Valentines Day when the children were growing up. I would do things like tie helium Valentine balloons onto their kitchen table chairs, make a cake, arrange some fun Valentine activities, buy them cards (before I got into this line of creativity), etc. Now they are all grown up with families of their own, so I don't do all those things any more, but I do love making the cards for my blog, because it always brings back those wonderful memories.

So, here is the card I am sharing with you today. I used the "Sealed With Love" Bundle in the 2017 Occasions catalogue.

The inside of the card, I used my Stampin' Write Markers to alternate colours on the line of hearts.

This bundle is so very fun to work with! It has so many parts that lead the imagination to many wonderful and fun Valentine ideas!
