Binder Album - Schoolhouse - Page 1, 2 & 3

For last Saturday's Album class, I made another album to show the class more photo matting variations for that size of album. Rather than showing you the entire album, I will be showing you a double page layout at a time. Today's post also include the single first page of the album.

The first page flap can be used for the album title. or it could include a photo on the Pool Party mat with the title added below.

Opening the front flap reveals a 4 5/8"w x 6"h mat that actually opens to more space for photos. It has a magnet closure and the magnet seen will be covered with a photo.

When the first page is turned over the 2nd and 3rd page spread is revealed. The 2 x 2 photo is the star for this layout, and you can see that each mat can be flipped open for more space.

There are even some journaling spots.

When that flap is flipped open there are now mats for wallet sized photos, and a  journaling place on the inside of the flap.

To create these pages for the Stampin' Up! Project Life 6 x 8 Albums:
  • Trim down your 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock to 8 1/4" x 11".
  • With the length across the top of your score board, score at 5/8" & 7 1/4"
  • Fold using your bone folder.
  • Using double sided adhesive tape, attach the 5/8" to the main part of the page.
  • Measure where you need to have your holes within that 5/8" strip and punch.
If you wish to attach DSP:
  • Take your 12 x 12 DSP and turn the top of the pattern/page to the left and trim at 8"
  • That same piece, turn the pattern/top again to the top and trim at 6". That should give you two pieces that measure 6'w x 8"h.
  • The remaining 4" piece trim down to 3 7/8" 0r 3 3/4" (your choice).
  • Next, with the length cross ways, trim at 8". This gives one piece at 3 7/8" (or 3 3/4") x 8", and one piece at 3 7/8" (or 3 3/4") x 4".
Then there are a variety of ways to showcase your photos.

I will be showing you more page layouts over the next month.

Thank you for stopping by today, and happy creating!

Tall & Skinny Accordion Mini Album & Instructions Available

I have another fun project for you that would make a wonderful Christmas gift! Of course it can be created to fit any occasion. The one I am showing you does not yet have photos in it, but I will add the photo later so that you can see what I've done with is mini. I am working on several projects to have completed for Christmas by November 20th. Of course, as it is with all of us, things take longer to completed than anticipated. I will be traveling to Arizona, and will want to drop off my Christmas gifts while there. So that is why I'm posting this before I have added the photos in it.

I did want to get the instructions out for you so that you have time to create some if you wish. So here are a few of the photos I've taken.

As you can see this little mini will hold a ton of photos. It has a three magnet closure, and closed, measures 4 1/4"w x 8 1/2"h x 1" thick.

I used Stampin' Up!'s "Timeless Elegance" DSP (138444). I used 14 sheets, which means that you may need to purchase two packages of this lovely designer paper. I am looking forward to getting the photos in there for one of my daughters.

The instructions are constructed with step by step photos, sorry no video, and are 24 pages in length. If you require additional help just email me - sabradcreations@gmail.com

Below is the link to purchasing the instructions if you are interested, as well as a list of Stampin' Up! product that I used to make this mini album.

               $17.50

Happy Creating!

"So You" Mini Album Kit - Class 3 For April 11th

CLASS CANCELLED

For those of you that missed the last two posts, on Saturday, April 11th, I will have three classes! Two of these classes will be using some fun project kits from Stampin' Up, and the other will be a card class.

This is the schedule for that day.

Class 1 - Perpetual Birthday Calendar Project Kit - 9:30 am to 12 noon - $55.00 (this includes the kit and the stamps set with no
shipping and taxes for you when you take the class!)
Class 2 - Cards - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm - $25.00
(no shipping and no taxes for you on your package of pearls when you take the class!)
Class 3 - So You (mini album) Project Kit - 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm
- $55.00 (this includes the kit, White Stazon Pad & Refill, Stazon Cleaner, & a long strip of Mini Glue Dots. Stamp sets are extra, or bring your own. Should you wish to order the stamp sets and have them for class, let me know and I will include them in the class order with free shipping and no taxes! See below.)

Today I'm showing you the project that we will make for the 3rd class of the day; the "So You" Project Kit (mini album)!

Included in the Stampin' Up "So You" kit -

There is a stamp set that goes with this kit, but I used what I already have. The stamp set on the left, "Perpetual Birthday Calendar" stamp set, worked very well with this kit, as did the Project life "Remember This" stamp set on the right.

Her is my cover design. You can, of course, make it your own creative design.

In this class we will learn how to use the White Stazon ink and stamp on clear sheets creating our own photo covers! I still can't create videos, so instead of photographing every single page, I grouped them together.

I still have empty pocket pages and other kit elements left over that I didn't use and can use for other projects.

I stamped the spine, and will probably add more stamping on the inside covers too.

Included in your class kit -

I will also provide you with  long strip of mini glue dots, and 10 journaling grid cards!

This is what you will need to bring to class.
  • scissors
  • 4 x 4, or smaller, photos (must have photos to make the kit elements work)
  • double sides adhesive tape
  • clean rag/cloth (you may want more than one)
  • photo/paper trimmer
  • paper piercer
  • your own stamps for stamping borders - images or text
  • stamp blocks
  • optional - colour ink pads of your choice
  • splat mat (silicon non stick mat)
  • ink blending tool with new/clean foam pads

Recommended stamp sets for this project if you wish to order these to have for class. If you let me know you want to order any of these, let me know and we can arrange for payment so that I can include them in the class order. (or bring your own stamps)

The first three stamp sets below are what I used on this project.
