More Stippled Blossoms - Mother's Day Card

I love using the Stippled Blossom stamps. They take a little extra time, but I find it is so worth the effort. I decided to use the set to create a Mother's Day card.

Those of you that have been to my home know that I love soft blues and will understand the colour choice of this card, along with a touch of Wisteria Wonder. I created the white heart background with Whisper White Craft Ink, Sponge Daubbers and the hearts & Stars Decorative Masks.

I don't remember where I saw the sentiment banner end rolled like this, but I do remember liking it and just remembered it again. I love how it looks. I don't have a Mother's Day stamp, so I opted to write the sentiment out in my own handwriting.

This is what I did for the inside of the card. Kept it pretty simple...

If any of you would like to have a class using the Stippled Blossom stamp set, let me know!

What inspiration do you have for your Mother's Day card?

See you tomorrow, and happy stamping!

Stippled Blossoms On All White

Today's card is a very special card to my Mom. It could be used as a Mother's Day card, a wedding card, a birthday card, or many other occasions, but I made this card as a "Thinking of You" card. My Mom loves roses, elegant laces, and she loves a lot of white or ivory.

I needed to make this card as much as for myself as for my Mom, and let her know how much I love her, and how much I believe she will be OK. On Sunday my Mom had a stroke which has her left side kind of useless right now. She can speak fairly well, but her mouth droops a bit on the left; her arm and leg, so far, will not obey her command. They have hope for her though, as they have seen the tiniest bit of improvement.

By the time you read this post I will have already given it to her. I'm pretty sure that she is going to love this card. The lace is a remnant from 20 years ago when I used to design and sew wedding gowns. I kept a few favorite laces...

I'm showing it to you upside down here, just so that you can better see the layering.

Feminine cards can be so inspirational and fun to make. What inspiration do you have for your Mom on Mother's Day?

Happy stamping!

Mr. & Mrs With Four Stamp Sets

My ex-brother-in-law just remarried  3 1/2 years after the passing of his previous wife. It is nice to see him happy again and able to share his life with someone new and special too. So with a wedding card to make and no wedding stamp sets, I ended up combining stamps from four different sets to come up with this card.

This is a 5 x 7 (A7) card. The floral background was created using the "Stippled Blossoms" set and off stamped the Sahara Sand roses, but direct stamped the Blushing Bride flowers.

Here is a close up of the center of the card.

The 'Congratulations' is from the Guy Greetings set, I used the Hostess stamp set "Because You Care" as well.

And this is what I did on the inside of the card. You'll see a couple of flowers that I forgot to off stamp, but decided to leave it.

I placed two sticky ad sheets in the center of the card and stamped away. Upon removing them, I had this lovely floral frame.

So that's it for this card. I enjoyed making it and hope they like it.

Tomorrow will be the Tuesday Weekly Deals, so come find out what will be on sale for this next week! And you have to stop by on Wednesday too. I have a very special set of cards for you to see.

Happy Stamping!

Super Fast Card Using Punches

Sometimes you need to make something fast! Here's one you may want to case, because it is easy and fast to put together.

It's similar to yesterday's card, with a few differences and even more simplification.  I love it when you can use multiple punches to create something a little different.

And the inside of the card...

I 'off stamped' the butterflies to make them lighter. So there you have this card. Hope you've enjoyed seeing a couple of fast and easy cards to put together.

Thanks for joining me again today. Happy stamping!

Soft, Subtle Colour Palette

I just love it when colour combinations turn out beautiful! Granted it's a very subtle palette, but I really love how this one turned out. I had mentioned just a short time ago, on a previous post, that I am in need of more Thank You cards. Here is another one.

You can see that on the squares the same stamp that was used for the background, is stamped in colour using the Wisteria Wonder & Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers.

This is a super easy and real quick card that can be put together.

Let's check out what I did inside. When I use Whisper White or Very Vanilla I like to add to the inside of the card a layer or two, to give it some strength for when the card is displayed.

Again, I really love this colour combination, and hope that you did too.

Tomorrow's card is even easier! And uses the same Artisan Label punch along with another (new one for me), and very little stamping. So be sure to check in tomorrow again.

REMEMBER to check out the RETIRING LIST (on the left) and make your orders before June 2nd when they will no longer be available!

Happy Stamping!

Project Life Playground Discounted At 50% Off!

I love to scrapbook as well as making cards, but don't get around to it so much for several reasons. But today I want to share with all of you that love to scrapbook a new video put out by Stampin' Up about the "Playground" collection which will be discontinued after June 2nd. So if you like this collection, you might want to get it before it's gone for good. And, it's on SALE FOR 50% OFF!!!.

Love the Accessory Kits you can get with the card collections, too.

What I really like about having the Project Life kits is that you don't have to use them in the pocket pages if you don't want to. You can use them on a traditional layout as well.

Not only that, you can also add stamping onto these cards, or put together some pretty fun and very quick cards and tags when needed.

Have fun watching the array of cards in this pack!

It was nice of you to stop by again today. I love sharing Stampin' Up with you.

Happy Scrapbooking & Stamping!

Just so that you know the sale price did not show below, but check the Retiring List and they are both there.

Stampin' Up Stamp Cases For Storage & Organization

I love exploring craft room storage, especially those that use, or work for, Stampin' Up products. I came across a few things that are a stroke of genius, and wanted to share them with you. I am looking at organizational and storage ideas using the Stampin' Up Stamp Cases!

Shannon Jaramillo made her own Sponge Daubber storage system using dome cardstock and a wood block stamp case!

Great idea, right? Make your own Sponge Dauber storage by following Shannon's instructions here.

Next, I also learned at the last Nanaimo SU meeting that you can store your ink pad refillers in the wood block stamp cases. Both the half and full size will work. I found a couple of photos to show you.

I then learned that some people like to store their Stampin' Write Markers in the clear & polymer stamp cases (the thinner ones). I like to store mine right next to my ink pads.

Another thing that has been popular for the thinner stamp cases is to store your Thinlits & Framelits in them.

This is one idea that I really love. I came up with idea myself before I learned that many others are doing this as well. I love those little Designer Series Paper Stacks, but find it hard to keep the pieces I don't use with the paper stack. I realized that they fit ever so nicely in the thinner stamp cases! No more bits and pieces falling out! Here re mine minus the covers I haven't gotten around to making.

This works great for me! Just need to desingn those covers!

One last thing I would share is there are many more things that these cases can be used for. The sky's the limit in imagining all sorts of organizational and storage ideas for these cases! I've even thought of storing rhinestone sheets, pearl sheets, dimensionals, and bakers twine cards in them!

If you have any other ideas that these cases can be used for, please share them in a comment below.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Happy stamping!

Get Well - Thoughts & Prayers

Have you ever had an image in your mind of what a creation will look like, and then when you complete it, it's nothing like you thought it would be? Well that's this card. I decided to share it anyway because we all have those times, and though it's not what I wanted it to be, it's OK.

For the image on the Whisper White, I used my Stmpin' Write Markers to colour the stamp. I love this technique!

Everywhere else on the card was stamped the traditional way. I only wish I had the smallest of the pearls. I was out of that sized and used the next size up.

Here is the inside of the card.

Here is a new, quick, video on how to use your Stampin' Write Markers on your stamps.

Well that's it for this card. You can view the product list for this card, below.

How's browsing the RETIRING list going? I've printed out the list and with a yellow highlighter marked the items I wanted. Then I went through it again with a pencil and using the numbers 1 through 3, prioritized those items, and even crossed some off. The next thing I'll do is go through the list with a pink highlighter for my number 1's (the embellishments, etc that go the fastest) and highlight the absolutes. I'll do the same with a green highlighter (for tools and such) for the number 2's, and an orange highlighter for the number 3s (the stamp sets). Then I will place three orders between now and June 3rd. If I were a rich woman, I could go ahead and order what I all wanted without doing all this.

Thank you for stopping by today. Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up Website and Clearance Rack Changes!

Yesterday started out with the announcement of  Retiring Items.  Wowzers!  What an amazing list of wonderful products!  If you missed that post (including the Retiring List), check it out here.
Yesterday didn’t go exactly as planned, though, and I hope you haven’t given up hope.  Throughout the day, the Stampin’ Up! site was either inaccessible or completely down.  When it was available, it was super-slow (kind of like the dial-up days).  Still, the determined were able to get through and pace orders – so some items are already disappearing from the Retiring List.
Here are some tips that will hopefully help you maneuver through:
  • Monitor the Risk.  Accessories (dies, punches ribbons, etc) on the Retiring List will be discontinued as soon as the current stock runs out.  Some items are already disappearing from the list.  Stamp sets, though, will continue to be manufactured by Stampin’ Up! through the end of May.  If there’s something you really want from the list that’s at risk of going away soon, place your order NOW and wait out the slow connection.
  • Today is Big, Too!  Yesterday’s Retiring List promotion really slowed things down as lots of people attempted to place orders.  Today, though, we are told the Clearance Rack will be restocked with new items – that means MORE people will be accessing the site.  While my fingers are crossed that the systems issues are fixed, but be forewarned that you might have to be super-patient again today.
There are a few new items added to the clearance rack! Check them out and see if they are itmes you have had n your wish list!
