Sharing My New Catalogue Launch Open House Photos & Door Prize Winners!

I missed seeing some of you yesterday, so I decided to share my photos of yesterday's event. Sadly, once everyone started arriving, I forgot to take photos of everyone there! But I can share with you my set up & displays. I took my photos in a clockwise direction starting from the entrance to my suite.

Class Sign Up Station 1 (3 classes)

Class Sign Up Station 2 (2 more classes)

Hostess Station displaying two of the many Hostess Stamp Sets available, and the cards I created with them.

Next came the display of of a few of the new products and new In-Colours found in the new catalogue.

And, everyone's favorite spot, the New Catalogue with treats inside, and the door prize sign up station!

Then came the new cardboard display stand filled with cards I've created (and for sale). I should have taken a photo after I refilled it...

Then into the next room came the retired Stampin' Up! items that I had for sale. Some of them have never been used.

And of course, next, there are the free items to grab. Retired catalogues are great to keep for inspiration or to cut out images to create your own book of favorites.

I always have a few larger creations up for sale too that include albums to add your photos to, and boxes with card sets, etc.

I also had a section of items that carried over into the new catalogue and a few cards made with them, for some inspiration.

I made for each guest a little 3 x 3 envelope from the new "Affectionately yours" Specialty DSP that included a little thank you banner using the new "Thoughtful Banners" bundle with a individual packet of herbal tea. This is so that everyone could go home, make a nice cup of tea, and slowly browse through the new catalogue to make out their wish list!

I did get one photo of a friend that was first to arrive. Once the others arrived, the thought of photos completely left my mind.

Thank you everyone for coming! I will have another New Catalogue Launch event at the Scrapbook Parade Langford Legion Market on Wednesday, June 15, from 5:30 to 8:30pm. If you couldn't make it yesterday, hope to see you there!

Now, on to the door prize WINNERS!

3rd Prize - Joyce Anderson
2nd Prize -Edna Lamarche
1st Prize - Anna Wright

Let me know if you'd like to drop by to pick them or drop by the Legion Market on the 15th to pick them up.

Everyone that placed an order can look forward to some fun in the next week or so when your package arrives.

Happy stamping!

Sneak Peek - Pun Intended - Bee - Hostess Stamp Set

Today I'm showing you the last three Sneak Peek cards for the series of cards I made using one of the new 2016-2017 Hostess Stamp Sets, "Pun Intended".  We've seen three cards made with the 'Camera', and three cards made with the 'Edison Light Bulb'. The last image in this set is the 'Bee', and here they are!

For this first card I used Tip Top Taupe, Pear Pizzazz, and the new In-Colour Peekaboo Peach. These three colours are also incorporated using one of the Gorgeous Grunge stamps to create the wide boarder on the side. The leaves are from the stamp set "Remarkable You", and the 'Tag punch' is no longer available after May 31st.

The bees are stamped onto Peekaboo Peach with Tip Top Taupe and their chevron stripes coloured in with the Tip Top Taupe Stampin' Write Marker. They were also stamped onto vellum with Archival Basic Gray. The wings were cut as one piece with the head and bottom cut off and then attached to the back of the bees cut out without their wings. (I did this will all the bees for these three cards, in different colours of course)

Using the colours of the bees, yellow and black, I created this layered card, using all the yellows except Hello Honey as it will no longer be available after May 31st. The edges of all these layers are adhered together with Tear & Tape, but the die cut circle edges are popped up with dimensionals.

You can see some more details in the collage image below.

For the third and last card for the 'Bee' series of this stamp set, I used Smoky Slate, So Saffron, and the new In-Colour Sweet Sugarplum. I have to laugh whenever I look at this card because I so carefully lined up everything with Washi Tape, but I suppose the cardstock moved anyway because the stamped arrows from the "Pun Intended" set ended up crooked/uneven. The flourish from First Sight looks great on the die cut heart.

I love the dangley little hearts that I attached to the larger heart, and it works well with the Falling Snow texture folder too. It's fun to shake the card a bit to watch them shake about.

Below you can see the details in the collage.

Well that's it for the Sneak Peek of the Hostess set Pun Intended. I do plan on using this set again for non-card projects in the future, so watch for them!

Thank you for stopping by today to have a look.

Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peek - Pun Intended - Camera - Hostess Stamp Set

The other day, I showcased four cards made using the "Lots of Love" new 2016-2017 Hostess Stamp
Set. In my Demonstrator pre-order I ordered another Hostess Set titled "Pun Intended"(141804). This is a great set for scrapbooking, Project life, Albums, or Cardmaking!! I plan to use this set throughout the next year for some of these genres. Today, it's cards. I was having so much fun with this set that I ended up making three cards per stamp - camera, Edison light bulb, and bee.

Today we are having a look at the camera cards. Here are all three.

As we look at them individually, we'll be going from left to right. This first one I know that my 12 or 14 year old granddaughters would love.

The "Lucky Stars" embossing folder will not be available in the new catalogue, but there is a very good replacement for it titled " Sparkle" (141468). I still haven't ordered my Wink of Stella so I used my Dazling Details on the stars. I think the Wink of Stella would look much better.

In the collage below you can see the inside of the card, and other details.

For the next camera card I played with water colouring the background using my new Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy (2016-2018 In-Colour) Stampin' Write Markers, Clear Block E, Stampin' Spritzer, and Aqua Painters. Aren't those colours beautiful?! I then dried paper with the Heat tool and stamped the camera on top.

This is a great card to send someone a photo or two. Just tuck them inside, write a little note, and send it off in the mail. Much better than emailing them a digital version...

Again, more details of this card in the collage below.

For the third and last camera card of this series, I used the new In-Colour Peekaboo Peach for the card base. The water colour splashed background I created using my Clear Block E, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write Marker, Stampin' Spritzer, Aqua Painters to spread it around on the block, and the wonderful Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. Once I had the colours on the block, I spritzed them with a fine mist of water, spread it around a bit with my Aqua Painter, then inked my stamp from it and stamped on Whisper White! Voila!

I also stamped two camera on Smoky Slate and fussy cut them out, layering them with dimensionals.

And, the inside with other photo details in the collage below.

Hope these cards have inspired you to have a party to earn your hostess stamp set! Or you can place a $200 order to get your choice of Hostess Stamp Sets after June 1st. And remember, you can earn an extra $40 in rewards during the month of June. (see details below) Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a look at the Edison Light Bulb series of cards using this stamp set.

Happy Stamping Everyone!

Anniversary Card - Lighthearted Leaves

A friend of mine asked me to make an Anniversary card to give his dear wife for their 47th Wedding Anniversary. I know she likes blue, and I wanted to stay away from autumn colours but still wanted to use the "Lighthearted Leaves" stamp set.

As you can see I did do a fair bit of fussy cutting (I don't have the "Leaflets" Framelits yet). I'm kind of wishing I had arranged the leaves a little differently now, but.... In the photo below you can see that the only thing popped up is the gold oval frame over/around the sentiment. The sequins add a bit of shine and accents in hearts and circles.

And, of course the inside... more fussy cut leaves that were trimmed once adhered.

For this card, I decided to decorate the envelope a bit, since it would be given directly to the recipient.

The sentiments on the front of the card were taken from two different "Hostess Stamp Sets". (Photos seen here and only available if you host a party/workshop)

Hope you found some inspiration from this card creation.

Happy stamping & creating!

A Set Using the Gift Bag Punch Board

I love to make sets whenever I can. For this set I used the Gift Bag Punch Board for two items of the set, and not for a gift bag either!

Using the Gift Bag Punch Board, I created a Policy Envelope, and a little gift box to go with the card. This will part of a future class!

Here is the basic box before embellishment.

And this is the policy envelope for the card.

And lastly, here is the card.

 Inside...

With this set I decided to have a class to create these, while learning how to use the new Stampin' Up! Gift Bag Punch Board for bags, boxes, and envelopes!

Wednesday, June 24th
6:00pm - 9:30pm
Shoreline Drive
$32.00
- includes Gift Bag Punch Board, instuctions, paper, accessories, use of stamps, inks and punches to make a maximum of 5 decorated items

We will learn the many different ways to create packaging with this wonderful tool! Gift bags, flap top boxes, policy envelopes, and more! Everyone will get to choose their own paper and so forth.

Registration and payment for this class closes on Sunday, June 14th.
