Floral Phrases & Detailed Floral Thinlits - Purples

Yesterday, CAS; today more detail and work. Saturday I showed you a card that used the Stampin' Write Markers to stamp with. I guess I enjoyed it so much that I did it again with this card. You may wonder why I didn't put another colour of cardstock behind the Detail Floral die cut, but sometimes using the same colour (Elegant Eggplant in this case) looks better and can be just as striking by creating a lacy/textured look.

You can see this detail just a bit better in this side view of the card.

In this detail close up, you can see the Stampin' Write Marker stamp colouring just a bit better. I used Sweet Sugarplum, Wisteria Wonder, a touch of Elegant Eggplant, and Pear Pizzazz. I stamped two extra blossoms and fussy cut them out to pop over the base stamped image.

Next you see a different side view photo that shows you more details. Love that Die Brush for dies like this! Makes it so much easier to get rid of all those itty-bitty bits of paper that needs to come out, and works well in getting the actual die cut piece out of the die!!

In this next photo you can see the square is popped up with dimensionals, as are the fussy cut blossoms.

For the inside stamping I did the same as I did for the front just stamping the mage off the edge.

So there you have it. It is soooo worth the time to use the Stampin' Write Markers to colour the stamps. Looking forward to teach you how to do this in class!

Floral Phrases - CAS Neutrals

It's always refreshing to make a Clean and Simple (CAS) card design. Using neutrals (Tip Top Taupe, Sahara Sand, & Very Vanilla), with no colouring, fussy cutting, punch es or dies, and very little stamping, this card is quick and easy. I, however, could not resist layers, lol.

Again, this is a card that will be easy to mail as it only has the sentiment strip popped up with dimensionals, as you see in the photo below.

I kept the inside clean and simple with just a part of the stamp, and off stamped first to lighten the colour a bit on the inside.

One thing about CAS cards, is that there isn't much to say about it. That won't be true of tomorrow's card. Lots of details for that one. Looking forward to sharing that it with you too.

Floral Phrases - Flirty Flamingo & Peekaboo Peach

A week ago I excitedly posted a card using the new Floral Phrases stamp set. I had forgotten that the Artistically Asian class came first, so you didn't see anything more with the stamp set that I am getting back to today. I discovered how fun this floral is to colour with Stampin' Write Markers to stamp a coloured image. I used two new In-Colours - Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach along with Pear Pizzazz.

I also discovered a secret to lining up the pattern on the border stamp, which I will reveal in class and then online after that. Below is a closer look at the colouring of the marker stamping.

Since there are no layers popped up with dimensionals, we head straight to the inside view next. This is a great card for mailing because of that. It's always nice to have a two part sentiment stamp like in this set.

I love the lovely Summer colours of this card, it's so cheerful. There are more Floral Phrases cards to come, and then a class post will announce when the class will be. You know by now how I post... I wonder if I should have added butterflies....

Artisically Asian in Wild Wasabi, Dapper Denim & Gold

Today's Artistically Asian card is in Dapper Denim, Wild Wasabi & Gold. This is another colour combination I have often seen in Asian art, clothing, & home decor. I would like to try this card again to see what it would loo like if I watercolour stamped the flowers. They look like a type of orchid, but I don't know my flowers that well. Maybe a future card.

Here is a closeup of the image I created using sponges in ink pads.

And a side view so that you can see I did not use any dimensionals for this card.

For the inside, I usually stamp on the right, but this time decided that since the flowers are all bending to the right, they would mostly get cut off, so that meant stamping them on the left so that you could see more of the flowers. I guess I could have done Mirror stamping... Oh well.

I will be posting this class soon, as well as other cards I had decided not to use for this class. This is a very lovely stamp set to use and can lend itself well for masculine cards as well.
