A Very Special Gift Set

Yesterday I mentioned that I had some of my creations for sale at the Vendor Market I participated in last week. Today I am going to share some photos taken of a very special gift set that I made.

I took an empty CostCo Christmas treat box that has front magnetic closures and covered the box inside and out with 'Timeless Elegance' DSP.

I used the 'Ornate Tag Topper' punch on both ends of the black cardstock to create the box label. From the side you can see the secondary exterior paper.

In this next photo you see the interior, and the fact that I had to add magnets to the flap because with the store paper layer and then  my own on top of it, the magnets needed some help to close the flap.

In the center I created a long box dividing the space into two sections. This box is meant to hold pens and such. At the back end of the pen compartment you'll see a tiny box. I created this to hold stamps, a roll of stamps.

Here is the little stamp box. It measures 1 3/4" square, by 1 3/4" high. I used the Word Window punch to make the little 'stamps' tag.

Next you see a dozen 3 x 3 cards made for the Card Box Gift Set. (I'm not showing them individually, but if you click on the photo, you can see the image a little larger to get a better look at them.)

Here are 14 tags that I made real quick to try and coordinate with the cards made for last year's card classes.

With all of the cards out of the box, you can see that rather than make a box for each section, I wanted to see the DSP without having to cover all the boxes with more DSP. So I decided to hold the cards in their sections by just attaching ribbon on the bottom and tying them around each stack of cards.

My First Vendor Market and Announcing a Door Prize Winner!

It's been four days since I posted anything. Did you begin to wonder?

Wednesday the 20th was my first Vendor Market Event, and I have some photos to share with you, courtesy of a friend. I also will announce the winner of my door prize at the end of this post.

I set up my space in a horseshoe shape with one section for Class Sign Up, a section to get the Annual, Ocassions Catalogues and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. Then I had a section showcasing a few of the new items from the Ocassions Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. And, that last section held some of my creations for sale (not all Stampin' UP! related).

Here I am just after the completion of the display set up.

I hope to have a couple of nice banners when I participate again in April. For a very fist event for this market, there were about 200 people that went through. Can you see the Door Prize wrapped in a pretty Elegant Eggplant ribbon?

I met knew people, had some good chats with old friends and new, and at one point it was so busy at my table that I couldn't help everyone there. Some signed up for classes, some made orders, and some purchased items I made. A BIG THANK  YOU to you all.

"Wild About Flowers" Thinking of You

As I mentioned yesterday, today's card is another case. The original was designed by Kim from Stamping at the Warren. I did make a few slight changes to it. The card base is Early Espresso, and I used two different greens for the stems; Old Olive & Pear Pizzazz, and some of the Melon Mambo flowers are second stamped/off stamped.

The sentiment, below, is stamped in Early Espresso and punched out with the Note Tag punch. Linen Thread is looped in behind the tag. with a Gold Metallic button tied off with a bow at the top of the tag.

This was so much fun to stamp! I think I would like to try it with the watercolour technique on Watercolour paper.

Next, you see the side view showing the two layers that are popped up with dimensionals.

For the inside I just did a couple of corners in like manner of the front.

This turned out to be a bright and cheerful looking card. I wonder what it would look like in other colours? Maybe you could give it a try and let me know how it turned out. You could even send me a photo or link to yours in a comment.

"Wild About Flowers" Retirement

I just love the "Wild About Flowers" stamp set! Again, I'm thinking about classes, and had to make more cards using this set. This card is cased from Pinterest and was created by Lynn from LW Designs.

I used a different embossing folder and die than Lynn did, but it's pretty much the same as she designed it. I love the Tip Top  Taupe with the Blackberry Bliss. A great colour combo.

The following photo is a close up of the front of the card. When I use a background stamp like the "Hardwood" one, I like to use my brayer. I place the cardstock on the stamp and use the brayer on the back of the paper.

The die cut and the sentiment banner are both popped up with dimensionals, as you can see in the side view below.

For the inside of the card, I took a sponge, inked it, and then dabbed it around the outer edge of the background stamp. I used my brayer as I did with the front die cut piece, thus framing the inside.

I forgot to mention that I took the sponge and inked the edges of the die cut on the front as well as the edges on the inside.
