Another Thank You

I'm finding that I can never have enough Thank You cards! Because I don't have a vehicle, and the bus routes don't always get close enough to where I need to go, I often need to ask my friends to drive me to Doctor, Lab, and Dental appointments. I have had to go quite often these days, so I need to make more Thank You cards!

I love this Basic Gray and Pear Pizazz colour combination!

I stamped the floral vine once as a first stamp, and the other three times as a off stamp (second stamp). I'm afraid you can't see enough of a difference, but I still like how it turned out.

The only part that I used dimensionals on is the sentiment pieces. I wanted to be sure I could mail it if I needed to.

Here is the inside.

The stamp sets and dies I used are below. The ones I used for the frame and sentiment is a Hostess Stamp Set "Because You Care" from the Occasions Catalogue. So you can't buy it and if you'd like it you may want to book a workshop and be a hostess before June 2nd when the Occasions Catalogue is done.

You can check out the other product used for this card, below. Hope you enjoyed this card!

PPA248 Sketch Challenge - Mother's Day

Every so often I go over to Pals Paper Arts Challenge Blog so see if there is some fun I want to participate in. This challenge, PPA248, is a sketch challenge. I decided to use it and make a Mothers Day card.

I think if I did this over again I would change the way I coloured the "Irresistibly Yours" DSP by perhaps adding very small amounts of additional colours. The yellow idea isn't quite right.

Since Blendabilities are not available, I experimented with using my Stampin' Write Markers to colour my stamped image. You can't blend the colours, but it works creating a style of colouring that reminiscent of impressionism. The trick is to leave just a bit of white here and there. I love how the colouring turned out.

Because I currently do not have a Mother's Day sentiment stamp, I took the Project Life Journaling Pen and wrote it out on a vellum banner.

You might want to hop on over to the PPA248 challenge to check out all the other entries! There some wonderful ideas there!

I plan on making more Mother's Day cards for you as some inspiration, in part because I'm not 100% happy with this card.

Thank you for stopping by to have a peek today. ONLY 4 DAYS REMAINING to register and pay for one of the Stamp of the Month Card Classes!

Feathers & Thank You

This is a Thank You card made for someone that was kindly generous, helping me out greatly in a time of need. He didn't have to do what he did, and that calls for a Thank You card with a thousand thanks.

At first I thought of making everything white because I was thinking feathers from angel wings. But being  man, I decided he would rather have some colour. I chose Mossy Meadow, Baked Brown Sugar, Naturals White, with a single vellum feather.

And on the inside I decided to add a feather as well.

Well, now I just have to write him a note and mail it off to him. Hope this has inspired you to use your Four Feathers Bundle (stamps & dies)! I have more ideas for this stamp set, but I need to make some Mother's Day cards...

Thank you for checking this out. You can find the product I used, below.

Sending Sympathy & Prayers

A very dear friend of mine passed away on Monday. I will truly miss her sweet spirit, beautiful smile, and kind thoughtfulness. She always spoke of her hubby, which told me how much she loved him. And now he is left alone.

I'm grateful that I have the hobby I do, because I was able to sort through my feelings as I worked on a Sympathy card for her hubby, and calm my emotions. I look forward to building my my stamp collection because you will probably be tired of seeing the sets used so often. But I know that you are patient as I have only started with Stampin'Up just this last October.

So here is the card.

I was experimenting with colour on this one, choosing Soft Suede and Marina Mist ink colours. I'm very pleased at how it turned out. As I'm writing this however, I wonder if I'm as cleaver as I think with this colour combo since something is vaguely familiar about the colours.

Here is a side view...

...and an inside view of the card.

Unfortunately the inside sentiment is crooked because it fell off my block as I was about to lay it down on the paper. (the image is blurry too) What I used to make this card can be viewed below.

I hope that my friend's hubby will feel my heartfelt sympathy when he receives this card.

Thank you for stopping by and letting me share this with you.

ShelvIt - Ink Pad & Marker Storage Units

This is my second post for today. To see my card post, scroll down to the next one. This post is mainly for those of you in the Victoria, BC area.

Thank You John Myers!! I've just purchased my first two ShelvIt items! Two Ink Pad units. I love how I can also include my Stampin' Write Markers right next to my pads.

Other great things I like about these units is that you can take out the shelves and paint them any colour you want. Something that I still have to do. In the mean time, I'm using them! As you can see I like to organize them by colour rather than category, so I used a Sharpie to write the category on. Still plan on buying more units!

You can join the ShelvIt facebook public group to read what others have to say about these wonderful hand crafted products. https://www.facebook.com/groups/345376715653031/

They are so reasonably priced and John is happy to customize any of his unit designs!

John was so quick with my order. As soon as I ordered, he started to build my units, and it was delivered the next day! No waiting to have your units shipped, or wait for the 40% off coupons at other places. Love that I can have customization when I want, too.

So, to my Victoria customers, if you want to better organizes your Stampin' Up supplies and tools with a more reasonably priced option, check this out!

Just For You - Label Love

I have so many ideas for this stamp set (Four Feathers) that I just received in my order last week. This is the first one I've created.

For the background on the Naturals White, I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set stamping darkest on the bottom and going lighter toward the top. I absolutely love the pop of Crushed Curry for the Label Love sentiment I stamped onto the Naturals White and punched out. I stamped another with Basic Gray onto Naturals White and cut out the strip in the center popping it up onto the Crushed Curry one.

Here is a side view...

...and an inside view.

I'm going to try some other ideas with this stamp set as well, so be prepared for more feather cards! See product used for this card below.

More Butterfly Basics!

Hi everyone!

If you're wondering "More?", I did mention that I love this stamp set. This one is very feminine and could be that Mother's Day card I promised a couple of posts ago. (I used it as birthday card)

You will have to excuse the black marks at the top of the card. After completing the card my Stazon ink pad fell off the shelf above and the lid came off onto the card leaving behind these marks. Due to not having enough of the cardstock left to remake the stamped part of the card, I had to show it to you like this.

I think the Soft Sky and the Wisteria Wonder look beautiful together, don't you? It's better in real life. Check it out yourself at home.

As I usually do, the next photos will show you the side view so you can better see the popped up layering, and then the inside of the card which I stamped as well.

When I get more of the cardstock that I need, I can then remake this card. I can't give it away with those black marks on there, can I?

Thank you for joining me for the last few days with these skinny long cards and the Butterfly Basics stamp set. Hope you are inspired to try making more long & skinny cards, and to try combining colours that you never thought would work together. I also encourage you to experiment with your stamps and see what creative ideas you can come with.

To see what I've used to make this card, you can view it below.

Happy Stamping!
