Birthday Blossoms - Purple & Gold

Deep rich colours with gold or silver foil are always are striking. Some soft neutrals and pastels work well too. For this card I chose to pair gold foil with Elegant Eggplant. I chose a very simply CAS design for this card to emphasize the colours.

I love to use the metallic embossing powders that coordinate with the foil. It looks so regal. The blossom is gold embossed onto Very Vanilla and filled with colour using an Aqua Painter, then punched out with the Pansy Punch.

The sentiment is also heat embossed in gold.

The photo below shows the layering.

With the gold foil mat, I did not want to take away from it, so I just simply stamped the leaves in the corners.

Thank you for joining me today in another showcasing of the Birthday Blossoms stamps set.

Happy stamping everyone!

Number of Years & Large Numbers Bundle - Part 2

On Monday, I mentioned that I was creating my grand children's birthday cards. This one is for Averi, who will be turning 9 this summer! Where does the time go? I remember holding her in my arms as infant just yesterday it seems!

First I want to mention that this may be the first time I used three layers to frame the DSP, It just didn't look right when I tried using less. So if you want to case this card, you might feel that you can get away with fewer layers.

I just had to fussy cut the flowers from the Birthday Bouquet DSP. You can also see that I used the lovely glitter tape from the Sale-A-Bration sales! After the 31st, you can no longer earn this free item. I coloured this piece with my "Stampin' Write Blushing Bride Marker"!

Here's a closer look.

And a side view...

For the inside I second stamped (off stamped first) the number 9. I wanted it to be lighter, and this time it didn't work out as well as it usually does. But Averi won't notice...

So that's it for Averi's card, and I have to say again how much this is a great stamp set to have. I've already started make other cards using this stamp set, after finishing most of the grandchildren's cards, and I can hardly wait for you to see them too.

If you are wondering what I used to make this card with, the list is below.

Happy stamping everyone!

Birthday Bouquet Swivlel Album

Hello everyone!

Hope you are having a good start to your weekend, and that you are planning to have some time in your craft area.

Still working in the extra photos of my grandchildren, I'm sharing with you today, a project made using one of the new DSP from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue; Birthday Bouquet! It's gorgeous paper. I have paper left and will probably be making a set of cards from that too, to share at a later date.

What I've created is a 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 3/4 swivel album for one of my granddaughters. To create the swivel, I used a single 1" album post. So on to the photos.

I see I forgot to finish this page with some stamping and embellishment. To continue...

The next two pages are blank so that my granddaughter can add a few more photos of her own.

On the back of each page are sections for journaling rather than more photos. Even though I took photos of the backs, I opted not to showcase them.

One thing I've been thinking since having made this album is would it have been better to position the post in another spot like the right upper corner rather than the left? I thought carefully before positioning it, but now I'm not sure if I made the right choice. I guess I just have to make another one to see if it would be better or not,

As I said I will be showing some quick and easy cards made from the scraps of this paper.

Happy Stamping!
