Sheltering Tree - You Warm My Heart - Stamping Shadows

Can you find the mistake I made on this card? Leave a comment below, letting me know what it is if you find it. 

I love the warm colour of "Soft Suede" and again wondered if I could make a more masculine card using this stamp set. This is a card that is a flat and easy to mail. Are you surprised about that? I usually love lots of layers and dimension, so this is different for me.

After stamping I used the "uni-ball Signo White Pen" to create a few highlights, and a "Project Life Journaling Pen" to create shadow on the tree trunk and branches.

Here is what I did on the inside of the card.

So with a simple card, there isn't much to write about, but I would love to find out if you caught my mistake on the card.

Sheltering Tree - Thankful For You

For this card I was intrigued with a card created by Tanya Boser and found on Pinterest. I was drawn to it and wanted to try it out, and changed it just a little by adding the Always Artichoke cardstock.

I whitewashed a piece of Crumb Cake, building up a layer brushing horizontally, and another vertically. I then took a dry brush picking up a little Crumb Cake from the ink pad, and with a gentle touch brushed a stroke here and there.

I like how when completed, the trees look a little like Poplars.

After the whitewashing I blow dried it with my heat tool and then stamped and heat embossed the trees. Then I stamped the leaves without re inking the stamp for each tree.

I then cut 3/4" out of the image and after heat embossing the sentiment on Always Artichoke, attached the image as seen here.

Inside...

It's always fun to try out something a little different and new. I can't help but wonder what it would look like using different greens or even different colours! Are you inspired to try something like this?

Sheltering Tree - Thinking of You Banners & Two Days Left

Having problems getting this week's new Weekly Deals, so as soon as I can I will post it. In the meantime, I have another card I can show you.

TODAY'S CARD -

I love the new Banner Punch! Had to try and use it, so used it on this card. Sure makes things easier, and exact. 

For this card I combined the colours Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, and Pear Pizzazz.

I took the ink pads Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, and Perfect Plum, pressing a corner of the pad against the largest clear block so that the colours slightly over lapped with each other, intersecting in the center of the block. Then inking the stamp from the block I randomly stamped onto the Whisper White cardstock.

The new Banner Punch is wonderful to create banners with! A perfect notch each time!

Here's the inside of the card.

Because I was only creating a top and bottom border, I did not need to ink the block. I just inked a small section of the stamp to create the borders.

This is a different way to use the blossoms/leaves part of the stamp set.

Sheltering Tree - Thinking of You

I've had this stamp set for quite a while, but never go to using it for some reason other than for dotted backgrounds. So I thought I had better get at it! I made four of them, and will show them to you over the next few days.

Today's I used Basic Gray, Mint Macron, and Watermelon Wonder.

From the new Neutrals DSP Pad I used the Basic Gray diagonal stripe. Love the patterns in the new pads! Much better patterns.

And for the inside...

It is fun playing around with this set. I think a person could make umpteen cards, all different, with this set. Are you inspired? I have more to show you, so come back.

I think I would like to make some Home Decore Projects with this set some time, too!
