Brights on White - Penned & Painted

I love bright colours on white. It seems tropical somehow, and yet I don't do it often enough. Penned & Painted is one of my favorite new stamp sets because you get a watercolour look without all the work. For this card I decided not to use the 'penned' outline stamps and just leave it as it. I love the 1/16" mat border, it makes everything just pop!

I ended up having to laugh after stamping the sentiment. I made the effort to use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the sentiment, and then just as I was stamping, everything moved! So it is a little crooked. Instead of fretting over it, I decided to laugh it off.

Here is a close up of the stamping...

Side view shows the black matted stamped piece is popped up with dimensionals.

I chose to have a wider black boarder on the inside and stamped the flower in the corner. I plan to add "Happy Birthday" inside as well, at a later date.

Thank you for having a look today. If you would like to order this stamp set, let me know!

Happy stamping!

Penned & Painted Masking Card - For You

Sorry, no "Thoughtful Branches" inspiration today. I'm busy getting classes ready for Scrapbook Essentials BC, and when I put that aside to create a card for you today, I grabbed the stamp set that was still out on the side of my desk, which happened to be "Penned & Painted".

This three step stamp set is so fun to work with, and the card is flat, with no popped up layers or fussy cutting.

I used the masking technique when stamping to layer the flowers and leaves. When that was done, I took the Smoky Slate and Aqua Painter to go around the edges creating a shadowed frame that helps to give a more completed look.

Since childhood I have loved Lady Bugs! For that reason I am thrilled to have this sweet Lady Bug in this stamp set. I masked the body of the lady bug while stamping the leaf, then stamped it on that spot and filled it in with the Real Red Stampin' Marker.

On the inside I used that darling little Lady Bug again with a flower and some leaves.

Wink of Stella would look great on this card, too. Hope that you are inspired to have some creative fun with this set, or add it to your wish list.

Who would like a class using this stamp set? Leave a comment or contact me to let me know.

Happy stamping everyone!

Penned & Painted Wedding

Cutting into the sharing of "Thoughtful Branches" Limited Bundle Set projects available for the month of August only,  and showing you instead, a wedding card I made using the lovely new Penned & Painted stamp set. I hope to have a future class with this set, but I have to tell you this is a must have set! Do I say that every time I use a new set? Sorry, but once I started using it, all these ideas came into my head and I can see using this set for years to come. I love the three step set that creates the watercolour painted & penned look.

So let's get on to showing you the wedding card.

No, there is no die set for this card, but those of you that know me well, know that I love to fussy cut, and a wedding just calls out for that. Here is a close up of the details. Used the Metallic Silver Thread here and there as well.

I photoed both sides of the card for you and put them together in this collage.

And then there is the inside. I opted to just use the 'painted' part of the stamps on the inside and added the sentiment from 'Best Birds' (both sentiments are from this stamp set).

One more thing to share with you about this card, it is a 5 x 7 card rather than usual size I make.

So excited to make cards for a class now, but I will be getting back to sharing ideas with the 'Thoughtful Branches' bundle first. If you can't wait till the class, go ahead and order it now; you can always bring it to class with you later.

Happy stamping!

Whoops, I forgot to include the Silver Metallic Thread - 138402, and the Pool Party ink pad - 126982.
