A Dozen Quick & Easy Thank You Cards

I'm sorting through my craft room looking for things to sell at Saturday's Crop Craft Garage Sale, and I came across a dozen cards I made back in January or February. I hadn't posted them yet because I wanted to make a box to put them in. But, because the cardstock and stamp set used (both being one of my favorites) are now on the Retiring List, I decided to post them for you so that if you wanted the cardstock or stamp set you will still have time to order them before they are gone for good.

I almost laughed out loud when I found them because I'm always saying how much I need Thank You cards, and here I had a bunch all along!

I'm very sad to see the Naturals White & Ivory cardstock retire. I just love how well they go with the Neutrals cardstock and with masculine cards. The "Lots of Thanks" stamp set is also one of my favorites.

This is what I used for all of the cards

Since there a dozen cards to show, I'll just show all the photos to you and then say something at the end.

As you can see, these cards are all basically the same, each a different colour and sentiment stamp. They are quick and easy to make and would make a great gift set. So if you want to make a quick set of cards or a gift, feel free to case these cards. And, if you too love the Naturals cardstock or the "Lots of Thanks" stamp set, you might want to order before June 2nd!

Thanks for stopping by today, and happy stamping!

My May Paper Pumpkin Kit!

YIPPEE!!!

It came! My Paper Pumpkin kit arrived!

It was so exciting to get my May Paper Pumpkin Kit! Inside I found a bright & cheerful Birthday kit! It has 6 cards and 4 good sized gift bags ready for me to assemble.

Everything I needed was in the kit except for adhesive & Scissors. But the 6 card bases & envelopes, punch outs, stamp set, mini ink pad, 8 sheets of tissue paper, dimensionals, and cord were all in the kit. What a great deal for all that you get!

As soon as I saw what was all in the kit, I was already getting some ideas on what to do with it all. I decided to make some just as the instructions indicted, and some I would use with my ideas.

That's what I like about Paper Pumpkin, you can use your own creativity if you want!

So this is what the instructions tell us on how to make the cards (except I added the Calypso Coral around the circle edges).

And here are the variations that I made.

The stamp set has a balloon so I took some Whisper White scraps, stamped balloons and cut them out, tied Calypso Coral Baker's twine on them and tied it to a knot just under the sentiment circle. I also lowered the band to allow for the balloons.

For this card I used the back of the card, added Whisper White behind the band to make it pop more. I took two more of the punch-out circles and stamped balloons on them.

I decided that I would take one of the gift bags and cut it up for the card. That's where the dotted paper comes from. The two holes are from the top of the bag and I used some of the bag cord to take advantage of the holes.

For this card, I took the top curved flap of the gift bag and one of the large balloons to create this card.

I again used the back of the card for this one and cut the front of the bag with the die-cut balloons with one of the banners and popped them up.

Let's ave a look at the bags. This is how they turn out when you follow the instructions. I made two like this.

Because I had cut up one bag, I was left with a third one. This is what I did to it using some left-over bits and pieces, and adding to to them.

Here is the Stampin' Up! video for the May 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit. Enjoy the fun!

Introducing Cucumber Crush - With Night of Navy

Yesterday I used Night of Navy as an accent colour with Delightful Dijon, and it turns out I'm using it on toady's card again. This colour combinations works very well and is great for kids; in particular, boys. So I turned to "Zoo Babies" with "Gorgeous Grunge" again.

The Cucumber Crush is a very bright green which is a great colour for Kids' cards. It will go well with other bright colours or dark colours.

The only thing popped up on this card is the scalloped oval and the cut out alligator.

Here is the inside of the card. Even with the "Congratulations" on the front, one could still stamp "Happy Birthday" on the inside.

I have a two year old grandson that I think will like this for his third birthday this year. I'm excited to see him for the first time next month!

Thank you for stopping by for a look. Check below for wht I used. Of course the new Cucumber Crush paper and Ink is not available yet.

Introducing Delightful Dijon - With Night of Navy

I love the deep gold colour of Delightful Dijon. It will be a great colour to use for Autumn/Fall or masculine cards! Today I'm showing you what I created with this new In Colour. I matched it up with accents of Night of Navy, and love the combination!

Combining the "Four Feathers" and "Gorgeous Grunge" stamps sets, I created the background for the three feathers. In additions to the obvious Night of Navy and Delightful Dijon colours, I also added the Metallic Gold ink with the splattered dots of the "Gorgeous Grunge". You can't see it too well in the photos, but you can see it in real life.

I just love the new Hostess stamp set "Happy Birthday Everyone". And for the inside of the card, I kept it a little more simple.

I hope you are as excited as I am to using these new colours for future creations.

Happy stamping!

Watermelon Wonder & Best Thoughts

Today I'm showing you another card using the new Hostess stamp set "Best Thoughts" coming in the new catalogue with the new In Colour "Watermelon Wonder". But unlike the previous two posts, I did not use embossing powder, I used QTips to colour in the rhododendron.

I also used "Mint Macaron" for the leaves & "Tip Top Taupe" for the stem. I want to try Aqua Painters, once I get them, for this stamp set.

For the butterfly of this stamp set I stamped it once on the card with Watermelon Wonder and two more times on scraps of Whisper White. They too were coloured in with a QTip. One whole one was cut out, and on the other I cut out just the front wing part. These were all attached on top of each other.

So now there are two more colours left of the new In Colours to show you.

Happy stamping!

Introducing Mint Macaron & A Copy In Marina Mist

If you saw the card I posted yesterday, it was the third of four cards that I made on Wednesday. They are similar to the one you saw yesterday in the fact that I sponge coloured Whisper White and used the new Hostess stamp set "Best Thoughts" with heat embossing in gold this time.

I'm showing you today the two, starting with the Marina Mist card. I was asked by a friend to make a Birthday card for his wife. I asked what her favorite colour was, and he told me it was blue. So an idea came to mind and I was so happy with it that I knew using the new In Colour Mint Macaron would work beautifully wit this idea as well.

I'll show them together and then each individually.

Let's begin with the new colour, Mint Macaron, because I know you will want to see the new colour first. It is a lovely colour and one of my two favorites of the new In Colours.

  • Building the layers of colour I started with a bit of Pistachio Pudding in a few little areas, and then build up layers of Mint Macaron making some areas darker than others.
  • Using the Embossing Buddy over all the entire pieces I then stamped parts of the flowers from the new "Best Thoughts" Hostess stamp set all over.
  • Covered it with the gold embossing powder and heated it until it was all melted and shiny.
  • I then layered the pieces onto the Mint Macaron cardstock card base.

To better see the shiny gold embossing I had to hold the card so that the light could catch it for you to see.

I opted not to heat emboss on the inside of the card, but I might consider doing it another time.

The same process was used for the Marina Mist blue card using the "Because You Care" Occasions Catalogue Hostess stamp set for the sentiment.

I think my friend will love her blue card when her husband gives it to her on her birthday.

Hope you are inspired to try something like this on one of your next cards.

Thank you for stopping by, and happy stamping!
