Envelope Punch Board Tall Gift Box

I wanted to know if I could make a taller box using the Envelope Punch Board. I realized one would have to use 12 x 12 paper or cardstock to accomplish this. And this is what I came up with! These boxes completed, measure 3 3/4"w x 3 3/4"d x 5 1/2" h.

I also like how my triple layer tags turned out!

There are three different versions. One using cardstock and DSP, another with Just cardstock and stamping, and lastly one using just the DSP from the 12 x 12 Paper Stack. I'm covering the constriction of these different types in 2 video tutorials, and an additional tutorial for the triple layer gift tag.

Here is a photo of each box on it's own.

Above is my first box using Whisper White 12 x 12 cardstock and the Trim the Tree DSPaper Stack.

This one is made from the 12 x 12 Regal DSPaper Stack. Not a box to put something heavy into.

And this third one is from 12 x 12 Crumb Cake with stamping on it.

Here are the three tutorials, and the measurements for the DSP of the first box are below them.

Part 1 - Shows how to make the basic box shape using the Envelope Punch Board and the Simply Scored Board

Part 2 shows a stamped version showing when and how to stamp the box before folding it.

This last video tutorial shows how to make the Triple Layered Tag,

Measurements
  • Cardstock or base - 12" x 12"
  • Envelope Punch Board - Follow instructions in Part 1. You will start by lining up the corner at 3"
  • Designer Series Paper - 4 @ 3 5/8" (or 3 3/4") x 4 1/8"
Triple Layered Tag
  • Top Layer - 2" x 3"
  • Middle Layer - 2" x 3 1/2"
  • Bottom Layer - 2" x 4" (or 4 1/4")
Thank you for joining me in this fun project today. Hope this box will be useful for many different occasions for you. The product used in these three boxes is below. Till next time!

Mini Gift Bag Box

Today I am casing a little project created by Sam at pootles.co.uk. I've change the dimensions just a little. She creates some really cute little boxes and projects.

Sometimes we have these little gifts to give but have a hard time finding something to wrap them in. This is one solution.

This little Mini Gift Bag Boxes can hold lipsticks, chapsticks, bath balms, mini candles, 2 nail polishes, a variety of treats, and more. They are quick and easy to make. if you need to make a bunch of them and save time you can add the DSP to just the front of the box. I didn't make a little tag for this project, that will be up to you to make on your own.

So, here is the tutorial video on how to make these cute little minis.

Cute, easy, solves the packaging problem you might have. I could also see a nice big basket full of these for Christmas.

Measurements:

Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
  • with 8 1/2" across the top, score @ 2 5/8", 4", 6 5/8" & 8"
  • turn with 5 1/2" across the top, score @ 1 3/8" & 4" (the left is the bottom of the box)
Designer Series Paper

  • 2 @ 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
  • 2 @ 1 1/4" x 2 1/2"
  • (or if mass producing just cut for the front - 1 @ 2 1/2" x 2 1/2")
Listen carefully to the instructions for the creation of this project as per tutorial

So below are all the products used to make these adorable Mini Gift Bag Boxes.

A Thousand Thanks

I have had so many wonderful people helping me out while I was unable to do a lot with my chronic back pain. I wanted to thank them all for their thoughtfulness and willingness to help me out. So it was time to make a bunch of thank you cards! I'm able to sit a little longer now - about 20  - 25 minutes now! I actually made more than what you see here. I was able to make these a little at a time over a period of a few days.

It was the first time for me to use a layering stamp set. (Stippled Blossoms-126747) With some masking it didn't turn out too bad for my first attempt. Some have pearls, some have rhinestones, and a couple have the pink embroidery floss wrapped around the top. I was just playing around with some slightly different looks.

When stamping with the Strawberry Slush, I second stamped it to lighten the colour a little. I did the same with the leaves. One stamp I used the full ink on the stamp, and the filler stamp, I second stamped to make it lighter.

Here is a peek at the inside corner on this one.

This one has the floss and rhinestones on it.

The sentiment I used for these cards is from "Lots of Thanks" (129690). I have to chuckle a little when I see these cards, because I usually make cards with layers! This time it's just one popped up layer. Almost seems odd to me, but they turned out rather well for all those wonderful, thoughtful, and helpful people.

See below for the products used in the making of these cards.

Happy stamping!

Stampin' Up Colour Coach - Great Tool!

On page 176 of the Annual 2014/2015 Catalogue, you will find a little item called "Colour Coach". This is a very handy dandy thing to have if you want to be organized and save some time hunting colours and combinations. There is the basic colour (#130118) sets as well as additional "In Colour" cards (#133718 & #130120) to purchase and add to them.
This is great to have to quickly match colour combinations, or look for that just right shade. Should you choose from Regals, Subtles, Brights? This is much easier to pull out than go through your scraps or papers.

You could also make your own using one of the "Tag Topper" Punches! (page 221)

Pssst, there's a new one coming out soon....shhhh.

Here is a little video showing you the one that I have made so far.

So I think I will be making more with stamping and embossing etc, as guides to make quick decisions in the future.

Share what you do to be an organized card maker or scrapbooker, to make your creative process easier, in a comment below.

Thank you for watching and sharing! Happy stamping!

More Purple & Gold...

My second post for today. If you are looking for the Year-End Clearance links, click here.

Does this look familiar?

Yesterday, I mentioned my purple and gold inspiration and that I wanted to use up all the paper I had been using. Well, I ended up using more than I thought, because I also want to make the same card I had made not too long ago, in a more rustic version, but this time I wanted to try it in the Blackberry Bliss purple and gold. Remember this card?

What would this card look like in the royal colours of purple and gold? You've already seen the front of the card at the top, and here is what it looks like inside.

Same card, but totally different look and feel.

Have you ever made the same card with different papers and techniques? Which did you end up preferring?

Here is a look at the product used for the making of this card.

So, there you have the card for today. Tomorrow I will be sharing something that has two choices. One you can purchase, or one you can make for yourself. Both are a great tool to have to help make your creative process a little easier.

Thank you for stopping by again today. Remember to take advantage of the Year-End Clearance sale!

Purple & Gold Christmas

This is my second post for today.

For some reason I suddenly recalled seeing Purple & Gold Christmas Decor a couple of years ago. Not sure how it came to mind, but I couldn't get rid of the mental images. Perhaps it was seeing the Blackberry Bliss cardstock in my search for something. Over the past couple of days I decided to make a couple of Christmas cards using those colours, and even searched out some images to inspire you.

Here is one of my Purple (Blackberry Bliss) & Gold cards.

And, here are some inspirational Purple & Gold Images.

To continue with the card...

The gold thread is a long ago Stampin' Up item long since retired. Sorry but the cream ribbon with gold thread is a scrap from I know not where. (I'm wishing I hadn't put Dazzling Details on the gold stamped snowflakes) You can see the layering in this next photo.

And here is the inside to the card.

This card is being sent to a newly made friend!

Here is the product used in the making of this card.

Card in a Pizza Box & A Reminder

Whenever my pain meds are working well, I take a few minutes to work on something. My inspiration for the project I'm showing you today comes from the paper cone wreaths that have been popular for the last couple of years.

I know, you're thinking that you just see a box. I was about to throw away some paper scraps when I noticed that some of them were square. Suddenly the thought of a mini paper cone wreath came to mind. So I created a 5 1/2" square card with a mini paper cone wreath from those scraps.

Because it is too thick for an envelope, I thought a mini pizza box would be fun to put the card into.

I hate for the white paper core to show when I create something, and you can see here how I forgot to take care of that. I blame the meds that make me a little loopy. Though I did do it on the gold foil cardstock.

So you can see how thick the card is with the mini paper cones. Half an inch thick as a matter of fact.

Right now I can't sit very long to type out the measurements of the mini pizza box for you, but if you are interested, leave a comment that you want them, and I will add it in later when I'm up to it.

Below are the products used in the making of this card and mini pizza box. Oh, I made a mistake entering the size of circle punch - it should be the 2" circle punch.
