Introducing Tip Top Taupe

I made a few cards yesterday, and had a hard time deciding which to post first. Usually I post them in the order I made them, but this time I want to post my favorite one first. I'm so excited to share with you a card I created using one of the new In Colours (2015-2017) - Tip Top Taupe! I LOVE this colour!

The card is monochromatic and heat embossed with silver. You can see why I was excited to share this card out of turn! Isn't it lovely!

 I used three stamp sets for this card. The Papillon Potpourri is familiar to you, but the other two stamp sets are new Hostess Sets available soon in the new catalogue. These sets are not for sale, but can be acquired by hosting an event in your home, or by ordering $200 or ore online. These sets are titled "Best Thoughts" (flower, butterfly & two sentiments) and "Happy Birthday Everyone".

In order to better see the silver embossing I held the card in the light.

Would you have guessed that I used Whisper White cardstock?  I inked the cardstock using a sponge and the new Tip Top Taupe ink pad. I also used just little Sahara Sand. Then I attached these pieces onto Tip Top Taupe cardstock.

Next comes the usual side view to see the layering...

 I know you are going to love Tip Top Taupe as much as I do! You know one of the things I like about this colour? I think it is a great colour for both feminine and masculine cards and projects!

A Bunch Of Stuff...

I'm busy working on some projects but have run out of cards from all those cards I made in advance. That means that I don't have something to show you today. I do, however, have other things I can post.

Another Team Meeting Post

Today I have one more thing to show you that I made for our Team Meeting on Saturday. I decided to surprise everyone with a card... a Hello (just because) kind of card, and write a little something inside. I'm using one of my favorite stamps sets again, Butterfly Basics, but giving it a completely different look.

So, what do you think? Nice and bold and bright, right. Here's a look at just a single card.

Whoever started the double butterfly thing, was very clever, because it looks so good!

For the inside I decided to stamp all those dots over the entire writing area. I plan to use a Stampin' Up Project Life Journaling Pen right over all the dots. It looks great! I've done it before.

Team Meeting Make & Take

Hi everyone! Hope your weekend is just great and that tomorrow your week will get off to a good start.

Yesterday, five of us, kind of a team, got together to have a bit of  meeting, and to have some fun. Each of us prepared a Make & Take with a different theme. I chose to do Fathers Day.

You can see the four kits, and the card. I decided on this sentiment so that on the inside the others could chose to stamp for Fathers Day or Birthday.

I love how stamping without re-inking makes the old car look like it's moving. I used my Stampin' Write Soft Suede Marker to draw a shirt on the wrestler, and then colour it in with the Pear Pizazz Stampin' Write Marker.

I used both Baked Brown Sugar to create the dusty road, and Soft Suede to create the shadow and darken the car. I forgot to mention that I used Crumb Cake to stamp the wrestler on as well as the sentiment.

I didn't do much for the inside.

Over all I like the colour choice for a masculine card. Well that's it. As usual, you can view what I used below.

Zoo Babies

As some of you know, my 8th grandchild was born on Valentines Day. He is my 3rd grandson. Any way, even though I couldn't attend the baby shower in Arizona, I was thrilled to receive an invitation to the shower. I'm keeping it for a couple of reasons. One, as a keepsake, and second because of the uniqueness. My daughter-in-law loves elephants, and that was part of the invitation design.

I decided to create the "welcome baby" card in colours as close to the invitation as I could, and use elephants. So that's where "Zoo Babies" comes in.

In real life the colours match better than they appear on screen, especially the Cajun Craze. It almost looks red in the photos.

And here is the inside -

Not too many babies being born into the family at this time, but the stamp set is so adorable, and I might make some children birthday cards with this set in the future. So watch for them!

Richly Coloured Thank You Card Set

Have you ever had so much fun with a very successful card, that you ended up making several? Well that's what happened a week ago! I just had to see what the card would like in a different colour, then another, and so on, till I eventually stopped at six.

I had like 36 photos, so I made a collage of each card to cut down the length of the post. I'm just going to go ahead and show them all to you.

All those little tabs on the card are there for me to put the name of the person I'm giving the card to. I'll use my Stampin' Write Markers of matching colour to do that when the time comes.

Quick & Easy Set Of Thank Yous

I quite like making sets of cards in a variety of colours, especially when the cards are quick and easy to make. A set of cards is great for those of us that give out a lot of cards, or for gift sets. With Mother's Day just around the corner, this set would make a great gift set.

You can of course use whatever sentiment stamp you wish - birthday, hello, sympathy, etc. You could even make a mixture of sentiments using the same design.
