Layering Love With Silver and Some of the New In-Colours

Another real quick post for today, as my New Catalogue Launch Open House begins in little over an hour form now. I didn't want to miss those not able to come today.

For today's card I used one of the sentiments from the new stamp set "Layering Love" (pg 71) This set works very well with all the new Layering Die sets! (pg 193). I decided to keep it simple for this card, and didn't use them. Since I am waiting for my Whisper White order, I worked with Very Vanilla and wanted to use up my silver cord (still have plenty left though). I again went with making a dozen cards, and used Archival Basic Gray, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, and Sweet Sugarplum to sponge onto the sentiment pieces mounted onto silver foil cardstock.

I will get in closer by showing you each set of colours and then an individual card from that set (even though they are all the same, lol).

Here, we begin with the Archival Basic Gray with silver. I really like how this turned out and can be both feminine and masculine.

I know that the Itty Bitty Punch set (heart punch) is no longer available in the new catalogue, but it was the smallest heart I had available.

Next we have the Dapper Denim cards. Lovely blue, isn't it.

Now comes the Emerald Envy cards. A very rich green that probably would look better with gold, rather than silver, but it still works.

And lastly, come the Sweet Sugarplum cards! I think that this colour looks good with both silver or gold embossing.

Who Says Leaves Have to Be Green...Yellow...Orange...Brown? Why Not Sweet Sugarplum?

I am having a lot of fun playing with colour combinations to go with the new In-Colours! Today's card shows the new Sweet Sugarplum coordinated with Smokey Slate! I so love how these two colours compliment each other! This is a very easy card and Lovely CAS card layout to use. Great for creating multiple cards. I would have loved to make a dozen of this card as well, but alas, this was all the Sweet Sugarplum that I had left. Guess what's on my next shopping list?

I also felt a need to do something a little out of the ordinary. I was thinking this to myself as I was putting away some of my stamp sets, and my eyes fell to the Vintage Leaves stamp set. That's when I thought what I put for the tittle of this post. Why can't I make Sweet Sugarplum coloured leaves?

By adding just a touch of black, the colours sing. You can see what I did better in the close up photo below.

The side view shot below shows the layering of the card. Most of the leaf is adhered down onto the rectangle, while what hangs over it's edge is popped up.

I decided not to put white or vanilla on the inside to write on. I believe that either a regular blue or black pen will be seen nicely written on the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.

I can hardly wait to use the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock again. Hope that you've been inspired with either the layout of this card or the colour combination. Thanks for stopping by today!

Another Dozen Thank You Cards - Wild About FLowers

Hello Again Everyone!

I'm entering another challenge, and want to get it posted today even though I've already posted a card for you today. I don't have to worry about linking everything later if I just do it now.

I've chosen Global Design Project again because I love the CAS sketch challenge (GDP#038) for this week. There are already some wonderful submissions from participants, and of course the design team always inspires.

With the Thank You card spree I'm on, this design layout is ideal to make another dozen.

I used  Marina Mist, Sweet Sugarplum with Wild Wasabi & Olive Green for these wonderfully Summer-like Thank you cards. Of course you can just change the sentiment for another occasion.

If I hadn't made a dozen of these cards I would of fussy cut out another set of blossoms and popped them up over the stamped ones.

I wanted a light texture behind the stamped image so I used Water Colour Paper and sponged on the Wasabi Green, Sweet Sugarplum, and Marina Mist ink from my ink pads to create the coloured backdrop for the stamped piece of Whisper White which was also given a hint of sky by lightly sponging a little Marina Mist behind the stamped flowers.

This little tiny tag was fun to make, and I was glad that it went well. The tag measures 1" x 3/8". I just cut the two corners off and punched a 1/16" hole at that end. Then I stamped the 'Hello' from the 'Thoughtful Banner' stamp set.

The only think popped up this card is that entire section strip, as you can see in the side view photo below.

This is an ideal layout of a quick and easy card or to make multiples with! It's always great to have a stack of cards to go to that are already made and waiting to be given away.
