Definitley Dahlia - Background Stamping 2

I'm leaving for Boise today so this has been scheduled ahead of time.

So Saffron & Mint Macaron are a lovely colour combination. This card will be for a class in July, so I won't be giving a lot of detail, but you can view the card and sign up for the class!

A closer look...

...and the inside.

Thank you for stopping in today for a look. Check in tomorrow for the class announcement, cost choices, and registration and Payment deadline.

Happy Stamping!

While I am away it will be harder to take care or questions or concerns, but I will do my best to help you upon my return. If you need to order anything, please use my online store at your convenience. If you have an account already set up there you will be familiar on how to go about it. If it is your first time you can create an account (top left of the site) or just order from the list that links to catagories, or just enter the codes from the catalogue in the space provided (search the store). If you do the latter, please be sure to mark me as your demonstrator, and to allow me to contact you. (See details as to why this helps us both here). Thank you so much.

Birthday Blossoms - Long Card

Birthday Blooms is such a lovely set and coordinates with the Pansy Punch for the large blossom of this set. I combined Tip Top Taupe, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla for this card and made it a long card (9 1/4" x 4") that fits in a business #10 envelope.

After 2nd stamping the bunches of small blooms in Tip Top Taupe, I used sponges to blend Tip Top Taupe around the edges and then Soft Sky.

In the next photo you can see the layering with dimensionals.

The larger blossom and leaves were coloured with Aqua Painters. The blossoms have the coordinating punch, but the leaves I hand cut out.

For the inside, with the length of this card, I decided to stamp the small bunches of blossoms on either side to visually shorten the length.

I love that little additional stamp "a day all about you".

This card will be one for a class held at the Scrapbook Parade Crop the morning of Saturday, June 25th. So mark it on your calendars, and there will more information to come in the future about this class on this blog, my facebook page, and my Stampin' Up website Events page.

Thank you for your comments, and for stopping by to have a look.

"Wild About Flowers" Retirement

I just love the "Wild About Flowers" stamp set! Again, I'm thinking about classes, and had to make more cards using this set. This card is cased from Pinterest and was created by Lynn from LW Designs.

I used a different embossing folder and die than Lynn did, but it's pretty much the same as she designed it. I love the Tip Top  Taupe with the Blackberry Bliss. A great colour combo.

The following photo is a close up of the front of the card. When I use a background stamp like the "Hardwood" one, I like to use my brayer. I place the cardstock on the stamp and use the brayer on the back of the paper.

The die cut and the sentiment banner are both popped up with dimensionals, as you can see in the side view below.

For the inside of the card, I took a sponge, inked it, and then dabbed it around the outer edge of the background stamp. I used my brayer as I did with the front die cut piece, thus framing the inside.

I forgot to mention that I took the sponge and inked the edges of the die cut on the front as well as the edges on the inside.

Below is everything that I used to create this card.

That's it for this card. Tomorrow I have another cased card using this same stamp set, so be sure to check in to have a look.

Sneak Peek - Going Places DSP & Going Global Series - Part 5

Second post for today - See Sales at previous post.

For this last card that I made with the "Going Places DSP" and "Going Global" stamp set I was able to get five scrapbooking cards. Four are just the DSP, and the 5th is pieced. I also decided to see if I could create a 9 1/4" x 4" long card using the 6 x 6 DSP stack. I of course had to piece it and it wasn't a perfect job.

You can see better in this close up that I wasn't careful enough, because once that Tear & Tape is down, it's hard to peal back and reposition.  I focused more on the Tip Top Taupe colour for this one..

TIP: For those of you that have never tried to have a cut shape within a shape, the best way to get the inner shape to line up or center within another, is to die cut or punch the inner shape first and then line up the outer shape around the inner one. The next photo is a close up of the main card features. The same applies to a stamp within a shape.

Because of having to piece together DSP to fit a larger area than the size of the DSP, I used Linen Thread to hide/disguise the seam in the paper.

And next you see the side view with the popped up layers.

Stamping, punched shapes, and banners, are used for the inside of this card.

Well this is the last Sneak Peek for the "Going Places DSP" and "Going Global" stamp set for the 2016 Occasions catalogue. Tomorrow will be a new item from the catalogue for Sneak Peeks!

In the mean time, below is a list of things used to create this card, with the exception of the DSP and stamp set that will be available January 5th in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue!
