I've always liked gold with colours like Pool Party and Mint Macaron. I think they remind me of some of the gorgeous French Provincial rooms I've seen in photos. I really wanted to use Pool Party for this card, but guess what? I'm out! So I went with Mint Macaron. With finally getting the "Wild About Flowers" stamp set, I had to use it and make this card.
So, this is what it looks like.
I had a scrap of the Winter Wonderland Vellum pack and cut into two (not equal) sized strips for the top and bottom striped borders. I had to laugh when I finished however, because before assembling the pieces I had prepared, I had decided to not use the metallic Gold Card Trim, but go with 1/8" strips of gold foil cardstock. As you can see somewhere along the line I had forgotten that change.
Here is a close up of what I did for the Oval focus of the card.
As you can see I stamped the blossoms onto the oval and then again on some scrap, to fussy cut and pop up onto the blossoms (except for the buds). To attach the vellum sentiment I placed a couple of mini glue dots behind the gold embossed text so that you wouldn't see them as easily.
Here is the side view so that you can see the layering.
In the next photo you see what I did for the inside of the card. Since I had the gold strips cut for the front and forgot to use them, I instead placed them inside. Oh, and I second stamped/off stamped the images for a softer inside image.
Well that's it for this card. I hope to make a few more cards using this beautiful stamp set. Because I'm busy trying to get those three albums made and scrapbooked, I don't plan on getting a card posted everyday, so please bare with me. Happy Stamping!
I have another fun project for you that would make a wonderful Christmas gift! Of course it can be created to fit any occasion. The one I am showing you does not yet have photos in it, but I will add the photo later so that you can see what I've done with is mini. I am working on several projects to have completed for Christmas by November 20th. Of course, as it is with all of us, things take longer to completed than anticipated. I will be traveling to Arizona, and will want to drop off my Christmas gifts while there. So that is why I'm posting this before I have added the photos in it. I did want to get the instructions out for you so that you have time to create some if you wish. So here are a few of the photos I've taken.
As you can see this little mini will hold a ton of photos. It has a three magnet closure, and closed, measures 4 1/4"w x 8 1/2"h x 1" thick. I used Stampin' Up!'s "Timeless Elegance" DSP (138444). I used 14 sheets, which means that you may need to purchase two packages of this lovely designer paper. I am looking forward to getting the photos in there for one of my daughters.
The instructions are constructed with step by step photos, sorry no video, and are 24 pages in length. If you require additional help just email me - sabradcreations@gmail.com Below is the link to purchasing the instructions if you are interested, as well as a list of Stampin' Up! product that I used to make this mini album.
I think I might stock up on some of that lovely Venetian Crochet Trim, and with Valentines just 4 months away, I might take advantage of that Hearts Border Punch too.
What about you? What will you be getting?
How about another Stampin' UP! video for you. I love using the Gift Bag Punch Board and here is a video showing you basic used of the punch board.
And, how about the Festive Flower Punch and stamp set...
I guess I am getting tired of creating with colours for Christmas, so needing a Thank You card, I decided to go with neutrals, choosing Crumb Cake, Vanilla, & Basic Black using the "Pretty Petals"DSP Stack.
I did make a mistake in my calculations, however. You can see that black matted polk-a-dot piece is too wide. I opted to use it anyway, offsetting it, and hoping it looks like I meant for it to be that way...lol. Side view to see the layering...
The black sequins add a little something as well as a bit of sparkle when the light hits it right.
And, for the inside...
...I off stamped the Basic Black Archival Ink twice before stamping on the inside. Check out the supplies used below.
So there you have a simple Thank You card. Happy stamping!
Today I am showing you the instructions
for a birthday gift I made for my Mom. Her health is not what it used to
be, and she can't go to her beloved Butchart Gardens any longer. So I
decided to create a little something that would bring them to her. I
created a simple Tall & Skinny Folio filled with photos of the
lovely gardens.
Here are some photos of the project.
There
are 52 photos in this folio, and I managed that by printing most of the
photos as wallet sized, punching many of them in 2" circles. For the
photos on the little square envelope pockets, they were printed as 3
1/3" x 5 1/2" photos and cut down. There are three panoramic photos that
where printed at 7" wide.
This
tall & Skinny Flip Folio would be great to make and give to family
and friends for their Christmas photos, just change the designer paper
that you use. As many occasions as you can think would make this project
a great display and memory keeper.
I hope that you will have fun making many of these fun folios!
I now live in Lethbridge, Alberta. I love living in a smaller town! It only takes 20 minutes to go from end to the other! The prairies have a different beauty to them than the mountains and trees of Vancouver Island, but I still like living here.
I still haven't the opportunity to sign up as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator again, but hope I can do that again some time in the future. I still love Stampin' Up! products!
I so look forward to sharing with you all the fun things that I create in the meantime when I am not making kits for Scrapbook Parade in Victoria, BC, or crocheting for family and blankets for the homeless.
Hope you are still getting inspiration from all my old posts.
