Some of those that take classes from me are not fans of sponge ink blending, and some join with me in my love of it. This post is for those that share my enjoyment of it. I was thinking that I may need a few more Christmas cards. I thought I was done.... So my thoughts went to the "All Ye Faithful" stamp set.
My sponge ink blending is a little rougher looking this time, but I think it's OK. I really like blues and silver and went with Night Of Navy this time. In this next photo. I decided to hold it so that the light would shore more of the Dazzling Details I used inside the silver embossed figures.
The only thing that I popped up is the silver oval frame for Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. I wanted them to stand out more.
I kept the inside fair simple and heat embossed the sentiment. Normally I like to leave more room for writing inside a card, but for Christmas I usually don't write as much inside so it works out fine.
There's something special about the look and size of cards that fit the business sized envelope (9 1/2" x 4 1/8"). I make the card at 9" x 4" (cut at 9" x 8" and score at 4" to fold in half).
Hope you are inspired to create this size of card.
Those of you that know me, or follow my blog postings, will be aware of my eldest daughter's visit this last June/July, and that we had some time together card making. I showcased three of the cards she created, but I still have two more to show you.
This one she created using the "Wondrous Wreath" stamp set. I love the gold embossed sentiment over the center of the wreath. She also added "Dazzling Details" on each berry. Dana also had a cleaver idea of stamping the bow under the inside sentiment.
It's always fun to see what ideas others come up with, especially if it's your daughter...
Wow! PUNCHES & DIES! If you are still have some Christmas product on your wish list, this week you can get some wonderful product on sale so that you can create Christmas projects and get something from your wish list!
A friend of mine asked me to make an Anniversary cardto give his dear wife for their 47th Wedding Anniversary. I know she likes blue, and I wanted to stay away from autumn colours but still wanted to use the "Lighthearted Leaves" stamp set.
As you can see I did do a fair bit of fussy cutting (I don't have the "Leaflets" Framelits yet). I'm kind of wishing I had arranged the leaves a little differently now, but.... In the photo below you can see that the only thing popped up is the gold oval frame over/around the sentiment. The sequins add a bit of shine and accents in hearts and circles.
And, of course the inside... more fussy cut leaves that were trimmed once adhered.
For this card, I decided to decorate the envelope a bit, since it would be given directly to the recipient.
The sentiments on the front of the card were taken from two different "Hostess Stamp Sets". (Photos seen here and only available if you host a party/workshop)
Hope you found some inspiration from this card creation. Happy stamping & creating!
Hello everyone! I'm sharing with you today a couple of cards that I made using the "Wild About Flowers" stamp set and using the Watercolour Background using a Clear Block and Stampin' Write Markers. At the end of this post there is a Stampin' Up! Video showing you how to use this easy technique.
Since soon we will be loosing the beautiful 2014 to 2016 In-Colours (Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, & Tangelo Twist), I wanted to use those colours for these cards. It's always hard to say 'good-bye' to the In-Colours when they are retired. If you love these colours, you may want to consider acquiring product with these colours to stock up a little. I did not pop up any layers on these cards at all, but here is what I did on the inside of the cards. On the inside, I usually like to off-stamp or second-stamp as some call it.
So if you are wanting to experiment with this technique, this quick tutorial video will show you how to do it.
Have fun with this technique, and experiment with different sizes of clear blocks, too. What I used for the Blackberry Bliss card (the one on the left)
For those of you that took my "Flurry of Wishes" card class and ordered the bundle, you can now add the "Flower Medallion" to the set as it is on sale this week!
And, for those of you that love to paper pierce around your die cuts, the "Piercing Pack" is on sale too! Stampin' Up! created a little video tutorial on how to make a quick notepad cover. You could use this idea for stocking stuffers!
I would also like to share with you a 3 page list of Excess Inventory List that Stampin' Up still has retired stock available for purchase. Click here to view list. If you wish to see what the item looks like you can refer to your catalogues from last year or do an image Google Search on the item. These items are are only available until the stock runs out. If you have further questions about this, contact me by email - sabradcreations@gmail.com
I now live in Lethbridge, Alberta. I love living in a smaller town! It only takes 20 minutes to go from end to the other! The prairies have a different beauty to them than the mountains and trees of Vancouver Island, but I still like living here.
I still haven't the opportunity to sign up as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator again, but hope I can do that again some time in the future. I still love Stampin' Up! products!
I so look forward to sharing with you all the fun things that I create in the meantime when I am not making kits for Scrapbook Parade in Victoria, BC, or crocheting for family and blankets for the homeless.
Hope you are still getting inspiration from all my old posts.
